 |

I know summer's here and the like, but unfortunately, like last year, i won't be here to enjoy what's left of it (pissing rain and shit etc). Upon my return, i've got a job at the Torness Nuclear power station near edinburgh and realise that i will be commuting 50 odd miles per day on my bike, so it needs to be in reasonable nick and also i need to get a rough idea of tyres nowadays that'll last the distance on a motorway/A road commute ( i won't be hooning or doing random blasts or track riding) so i need some recommendations. I use dunlop qualifiers on my bike and so far, have been impressed with their wet and dry grip and the amount of feedback i get from them, but the rear is squaring off after 2500 odd miles and i see that there's probably only going to be 500-700 odd miles left in them.
I've been onto THIS SITE to check out tyre deals and just wondering from personal feedback which one to choose?
I'm keen to know what people's personal experiences are on the newer tyres. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

So far I've been pretty happy with my Pilot roads.
They are all round, tour profile sorta tyres so i expect to get a good distance out of them, but they provide excellent grip in both the wet and dry.
According to THIS SITE you will be able to get 6,000 miles from the rear. ____________________ Will work for petrol

Stradas for me, I had a set on my old 99 ZX6R and they handled perfectly, never slid, even on the track. imo much better than BT020's.
I never got around to seeing how long they lasted but I know someone who got 10,000miles from a rear on a Hornet! I've heard reports of people getting an easy 6,000miles on 1000cc sports bikes. ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

Take a look at https://www.tst-tyres.co.uk/ I use these guys and they have always been very helpful when choosing the right tyre for my bikes.
Tony Salt has an excellent CV and I trust his judgement. |
