I have been getting more and more frustrated at work over the last 6 months, to which now my manager is now writing every negative issue down and putting them on my personal file without asking my side of the argument or the rationale for the behaviour.
Of course any of the numerous positive issues or actions are noted (as she points to her head) but in reality they are never documented in any files as we live in a blame and conduct and capability environment.
My wife has suggested that I contact personnel and take out a grievance notice againts her as it is geting personal, instead of it being based on facts, its being based on her accounts of a 3rd persons account?
It has got the to the point that I really just want to tell her to
I had reservations about taking the new post with her being my boss as I had previously worked with her being my superior for more than 5 years so I know her work ethics and how lazy she cane be. My fears have come true now that she has adopted this 'manager' role and now I just cant stand what my job and role has turned out to be.
Does anyone actually like their boss or manager?
The whole them and us obviously comes into many an argument for likeing superiors, but do you actually 'like' and respect them?
Have people jacked in their jobs because of their boss.
Just interested to know as the bile in my throat is starting to burn. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

First suggestion would be to keep your own log / diary.
Second is a question, are you in a union or can you join one? Useful for advice in cases like this and to have in case there's any action taken against you.
Third bit of advice is to do some research. The phrase you're after is 'constructive dismissal'.

All bosses are w**kers, i have not have one i liked. Sounds like your boss is trying to get rid of you. I had this a few years ago when i was plotted against and unfairly dismissed and i could see it coming, started of the same way. Giveing warnings for silly things, i got one for not emptying a bin before i went home (i was sales assistant) Then i phoned boss sick once cause i had the skits and he gave me a written warning cause he couldnt be arsed opening the store.
Then i applied for his job when he was leavng and thats when the shit hit fan, his GF wanted it and they ganged up on me and i was falsly accused of taking money from the till when i gave someone a refund. I left the slip by the til for another member of staff to sign who witnessed it and it was lifted when i came back, so i thought it was signed and in till. Little did i know next day boss called me wanted a word and sacked me! i worked there 3 and a half years.
I had the union on it and they wernt pleased, they had the proof from the till print i done the refund and the goods that where refunded. The person that was my witness said he didnt see it and took a week of work so i wouldnt catch him I was only one authorised to do a refund and there was no managemant in. , then two staff said they where watching me on the cam hand out money and said i was lifting it! They forget it was on the dam till read out on computer! no camara proof also it was switched of.
they had the proof i didnt do it to, so they then made up an excuse i didnt get the slip counter signed(it was lifted by two camara members) that apparently i throw in the bin crumpled up(which at tribunal it was as fresh as new paper not crumpled)
I won anyway and got compensation and they lost their jobs anyway as the company went bust.
There are backstabbing gits around and power mad assholes you need to watch out for.
Never again will i pit up with that shit!
Just watch they write up bad things and give out silly warnig to biuld a case against you then bang your out!
Oh and keep a diary and join a union let them know first so you can build your case also. ____________________ All the breast.

I must be very fortunate, I have only ever had one boss that I did not respect*, though I did like her.
My current boss is brilliant, I respect him immensely and actually like the guy as well. He works on a higher intellectual plane, granted, but when you can read complex detail into his rather vague two or three word emails/mutterings he makes a lot of sense. Not only is he remarkably clever he is also very supportive and keen to aid personal development. If I feel I am going to struggle with something he has tasked me with he asks why I can't do it, and gives me opportnities for learning and experiences to support the work.
*This is because her believes entailed work taking priority over one's personal life and her asking why on earth I ran Guides when I didn't get paid for it?! Her whole life revolved around money and making it... not my ethic unfortunately! ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

I feel that my current situation is the complete opposite to yours Bella.
Its amazing at the difference a little confidence and encouragement can have an effect on fellow workers, I try to install this as does your boss its just a shame that I dint recieve the same ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy

My boss is cool, I was actually in the pub with him last night. Every Monday in the pub, all the local bring their guitars, fiddles, bones, harmonicas, banjos etc, and we have a wee shin dig lol. It was good craic. ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,

lol, finally someone to share my pain!!! My boss things im a retard, this isnt a joke he thinks im thick as shit. I think this is partly because i just dont care and that he based all this on my first busy shift back from uni.
Also, its made harder as he has varible moods that swing quickly and many members of staff have seen the reason why *sniff* *sniff*. The only thing that keeps me going is im only there for 2 more months and back to uni.
Bosses just seem to make bad decisions which you can clearly see the consequences but you have to go with their idea as they are above you.
I cant wait to graduate and get a real job  ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

Sounds like your boss is in need of re training
Being a "Boss" myself I work on some basic principles
1. when things go wrong be objective
2. criticise the behaviour not the personality
3. recognise that you can rarely change someones personailty but you can influence their behaviour
4. critical feedback is like money in a bank you have to have credit before you can withdraw, this means always identify something the individual does well before approaching a subject that requires attention
5.Where feasible offer critical feedback at the persons own post and not my office
6. do not assume I know what is causing the issue,or what the person is feeling or what I think the fix is
7. ask the individual open ended questions, invariably they will provide the answer themselves.
8. Be supportive, honest and open, do not over promise but always be sympathetic.
9. Welcome your staff coaching upwards ( they CAN tell you what you can do better)
perhaps you should run this by your current manager

Funny situation with my current boss. Well two of them now.
My immediate boss is an ex colleague. I've been there three years longer than him and I was given the option to buy the business first but turned it down. He was then given the offer and took it up.
In other words, I could easily have been his boss, he knows I could and he knows I decided not to. What he doesn't know is why because I haven't told him (frankly, I can't be arsed with the hassle).
My other 'boss' is financially in the business as a director. He initially tried a bit of sabre-rattling and changing the way I work to fit in with the systems in the other companies he has an interest in. I casually let him know I was having none of it by replying to his requests that any changes he wishes to make to my terms of employment are open to negotiation. He already knew full well he couldn't force any changes on me, he is now aware that I know too.
They are humouring me at the moment because they both know full well that they are already a man down and if I decide to fuck-off the business will rapidly go down the pan. They are entirely reliant on my goodwill in taking up the slack.
Aye, they're the bosses, but who has controll? ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
