Nice one Mr Fisty. Thumbs Up , they sure will come in handy. are they the hand held type or can they be worn inside your motorcycle helmet ?

It's a shame you can't make it (but at least you have one outing under your belt Thumbs Up ), I'm in a similar situation where the weather is going to dictate my movements. bloody monsoon season!

how's the bike going ? any thoughts of upgrading ?

all the best,
flat Eric.

Does anyone have any idea what time we'll be back? I'm watching a bike on ebay and it finishes at about 4:30pm. No problem if we're not back by then, I'll get someone to bid on it for me, just sort of wondering is all!

I'm really looking forward to this now!

Just incase anyone is expecting to find me on a KLR600, I sold it a while ago and I'm on an XJ600 now Thumbs Up

Roger Thumbs Up I'll be there.

From what I can tell from the latest bbc weather for Wales it looks like the rain isn't going to hit Snowdonia until 4pm, so we may get lucky... or not... bringing my waterproofs.

That's where I'll be. It's split into 2 parts, the bit for the McDonalds and then a gravelly sort of bit next to it.

Well here I am stuck at work and your all off on your jolly! *sigh* Yes eric the walkie talkies are the ones you can use under a helmet with a push to talk button, Ive used them at 100+ mph (on a private road honest officer) and they were excellent. Me and Mr_z used them on the last ride out.

Awww Im gutted I didnt get organised enough for today, again!

Managed to get out 3 days on the trot this week too, just getting back the feel for my bike ready for today. Sold the battered one yesterday and couldnt second guess if I should ask the sitter or not, then left it too late as she'd made other plans!

Please have another meet this month! 3rd time lucky n all that Wink

What an eventful day we've had. 1st part went ok, we all met up at the correct places and were happily riding up to the Ponderosa cafe, up on the horseshoe pass. when we came across an accident involving a bike and a car. someone was with the rider who was on the floor (suspected broken arm), whilst we directed the traffic around the scene, safely of course.

once the ambulance arrived, they looked after the rider. shortly after the police arrived and the helicopter arrived.

rider safely off to hospital (thoughts with him for speedy recovery)

anyway here are some pictures that i took. stunning views in wales. and the others will tell you how impressive the roads are.

Well we all started out at Holywell McDonalds then headed up to the Ponderosa, down the horeshoe pass into Llangollen, up the A5 to Betws y Coed then we carried on a bit further up the A5 and turned off for Llanberis and stopped there for a bit. We all went our seperate ways after that.

It was a great ride and very eventful! We all met in McDonalds at around 11ish then headed out at 11:30.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/mcdonalds2.jpg

As Flat Eric said, we arrived at an RTA minutes after it'd happened and tried to help out untill the ambulance and the police arrived. Special mention to GixaJane, Flat Eric and Arron (I think) who did an absoloute sterling job of restoring sanity to the situation Thumbs Up and a big Thumbs Down to the idiot on the big twin who wouldn't slow down past the scene of the accident Evil or Very Mad

We then headed up to the Ponderosa which was packed and had a bit of a rest and and a bite.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/ponderosa1.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/ponderosa2.jpg

(sorry if I got anyone wrong in that picture!)

Flimbar made a new friend and shared his lunch.....

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/flimbaaaaaah.jpg

And the ogre was keeping us all in check Razz

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/richardgreenphotog.jpg

We dropped down to Llangollen through the beautiful Horseshoe pass and then took the A5 up to Betws y Coed. Ben was on a mission at this point, he took off just after Llangollen and we didn't see him again untill Betws! GixaJane had a very lucky escape coming through the Paddock bends near Betws y Coed and did very well to stay on her bike during a short impromptu off roading session!

A quick stop in Betws followed to see if Cestrian was going to join but he didn't show so we carried on up the A5 and turned off to head up towards Llanberis where we stopped in a small carpark.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/thebcfcrew.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/richardgreenmirror.jpg

Stunning view

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/flimbarpic.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/gixxerthou1000smaller.jpg

I'm not usually one for sportsbikes but GixaJane's bike was mint!

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/flimbaricecream.jpg

It was a hot day!

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/icklebirdie.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/richardgreenmirror2.jpg

All in all it was a great ride with a good vibe and the weather was amazing considering it was supposed to be torrential downpours all day, bring on part 3 - Scotland!!!

EDIT: Whoop! I won that bike on ebay too, bidsnipe for the win!!

Wooo! Just made it home after riding on the A roads for about 4 hours to get home - aching all over!

Was a great day, thanks to everyone that helped organise it, and everyone that attended.

Thanks to the guys that helped me when my gears jammed... then came and chased after me when I went the wrong way trying to catch up Embarassed Laughing

Cheers Ben for showing me and my dad the way home, and to GixaJane and -insert name here- for being traffic coppers at that Busa crash (if anyone finds any updates on that guy, please do share Very Happy)

So yeah, in all, a good day out - ta!

Thanks guys and gals for a great day, eventful ummmmmm

Flimbar and I set off from Bassetts at 08:00, pulled into an Esso garage for a fill up and toilet stop...........no flamin toilet had to use natures garden phew relief, rang flat eric from there and asked him if he was coming out to play Razz , we met him along the road then rode to Macdonalds to meet up with the rest of the crew.

Brilliant roads really enjoyed the ride today, big up to Truslac jr on his 50 he rode brilliant Thumbs Up

Hope the guy who was involved in the accident isn't too bad and gets well soon, his bike was a total write off but that can be sorted.

Don't it just bring out the plonkers at times like that I'm referring to the total idiot on the bike who wouldn't stop, he had to ride straight the accident Thumbs Down Evil or Very Mad duuuur

I didn't realise Wales was so beautiful looking forward to another visit soon.

Mr G, DON'T YOU DARE! you know what I'm referring to - my dinner

Thanks to Flimbar for pointing me in the right direction on the way home but!!!!!!!!!!!!!I ended up in Birmingham!!! doh I missed the turning playing with a blue sports car, well it would have been rude not to lol

Cleaned and polished the gixa so I could put my Ponderosa dragon on the bike.

F/E don't worry about that little scratch you'll soon have it sorted, I know how you like your babe to be perfect.

I'll put my piccy's on tomorrow.
