Just a quick one!

Basically, i have just gone to turn my second pc on - (Hasnt been used in about a month)

press on, and the fans turn once or twice, and then stop - same with leds.

so i swapped the power supply back for the old one (which i swapped over just before i stopped using it - but did test it and it was fine)

Now i turn it on, It all powers up... Mouse lights up... Nothing on screen...

Press on/off / reset and nothing, Try hard shutdown - hold off - nothing...

Have to turn it off via the plug!!!

Whats happening?

Jenks have you got all the correct wires fitted to the motherboard not the big plugs them likkle black ones that are right cnts to fit with fat stubby fingers, It is a problem I faced and sorted with reading mobo instructions to get the right order.

I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago when I installed some cheap RAM from E-buyer. The computer booted, the fans whirred then it shut off again.

Taking the RAM chips out restored it back to normal.

Not saying this is your problem necessarily, but whatever it is I think it's the BIOS detecting a pretty fundamental error and shutting off before the problem causes any damage.

Not suggesting this is your problem but had pretty much the same issue with a pc a while back and it turned out to be a blow cap on the mobo.

Maybe jump in with a torch and look for any swollen ones or burnt looking.

Hard to pick something like this unless you have other parts there ready to swap over and check them all out

Sounds just like what you are experiencing. so might be worth a look.

I didnt read it all though.
