 |
|
Wellingborough based motorcycle insurance provider, MCE, has declared a war on the rising cost of insurance for 125cc bikes.
With immediate effect MCE will guarantee to beat any genuine, non subsidised quote on a 125cc geared motorcycle, irrespective of area, rider age or bike type.
Dave Plummer, Sales & Marketing Manager for MCE said, ‘We successfully launched a new 125cc scheme earlier this year, but that was just a pilot for the main campaign we are launching today. What we can offer now is, without doubt, the best pricing you can get for insurance in this critical market sector. The cost of insurance for 125s can make or break a sale for a dealer and our aim is simple. We want to help dealers sell more bikes.’
The conditions of the new scheme are very simple. MCE will guarantee to beat any quote given from now until 30th September 2007. In order to qualify for the price beat promise, the customer may be required to provide a written copy of the quotation, including the name of the insurer prior to the MCE policy being incepted.
Plummer continues ‘Obviously a campaign of this nature is open to abuse, so all we will ask from a limited number of customers is written proof of the quote we are being asked to beat prior to the MCE policy being incepted.’
In the case where an FSA registered dealer obtains the policy on behalf of the customer, the dealer assumes responsibility for providing the required documentation. ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

I'm insured through MCE...they're great in my book.
£451 TPFT on a 2002 FZS 600 agreed value of £2k - live in NW London, 21, got my license three months ago and no previous insurance history (no car license either). It's not even garaged.
Free breakdown cover aswell (which I've used on more than one occassion as I used to have an unreliable lemon of a '99 FZS), and I'm insured to ride other people's bikes.
The only bone of contention was that they charged me a £30 admin fee to swap the bike on the policy, if they must charge such ridiculous fees for changing something on a PC can't they claim it off the company insuring the guy who wrote my other bike off?
No increase in the price for the newer, significantly more valuable bike though.
I was also thinking of getting a sportsbike for a while instead of another Fazer, apparently I'd only have to pay an extra £150 to insure an R6 and an extra £350 to insure an R1/Fireblade etc.
£800 to insure an IG20 bike at my age with no NCB? Amazing!
It would have been over £2500 fully comp to insure the Fazer though, which is absurd - but not really surprising. |

I am with MCE.
Got an 07 CG125, fully comp for £150
27, first bike, so no NCB
Like with all insurance, the test is when / if you need to claim off them. ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just done a quote with MCE;
£328 (they called me within 5 mins of doing it online!!)
TPO on my CBR125.
Paid £490 with bennetts. Might have to call them and cancel my policy
UPDATE:
Theiving bastards.... If i want to cancel my policy with Bennetts (i've had the cover for nearly 2 months) i will still have to pay 30% of the full premium (about £147). That would be a fair %age to pay, if i'd had 30% of a years cover (4 months, not 2!).
Still...
£147 + £328 = £475
So i'd be saving £15 Not worth the hassle...
Still, will check out MCE when it comes to insuring a bigger bike! ____________________
