 |
|
Hi all
I have just purchased a 2007 Honda CBR600RR7 and am getting quotes well above anything ive been quoted on a new Yamaha R6.
I spoke to the insurance company about this and a guy said its because insurance companies love to insure Yamahas
I would have thought it was the other way round.
Anyone know anything about this?
Cheers |

Thats bull shit about them perferring to insuring Yams! They aren't bothered what they insure as long as their getting the cash!
Have you tried a few places? Try bikeinsure.co.uk or ebike is liked on here, MCE? ____________________ 04 zx10r with mods - 187.4bhp at the wheel! :o |

Agree - I can't see why insurance would be any different on what are essentially two similar bikes performance-wise (and nickability-wise ). Yes, this is cynical, but I agree with yzf750r in that as long as they've got your money, they don't really care.
The only variable I can see would be the insurance company themselves (not the broker) and their different criteria. I've had some wildly differing quotes before now - for the same bike.
Have you tried Carole Nash or Hastings? My recommendation is to get Ride or Bike and go through some of the insurance companies listed in the back. ____________________ Dead nobodies in company cars... |

they are just bluffing , ie if you tried to insure a Yam they'd said we love to insure Hondas,
I remember back in the 90s when loads of people were scared of UK beef, people would come in and ask where beef was sourced from you say EU they say no I only want UK beef , you say UK they say nah don't eat UK beef, ah the joys of catering , not... ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I would defonately reccomend Falcon Bikes.
www.falcon-bikes.co.uk - Pinder Dhaliwell is the owner, top guy.
Small firm but excellent cheap rates and a great service.
P.s I DONT work for them or have anything to do with the business. I popped in oneday after work and got talking to them. ____________________ Suzuki VL Intruder 125cc - September 2004 to July 2005

tis funny was playingabout with quotes for a ZX10R , and some of them come incredibly close to the cost of insuring the CBR600 , 2008 maybe a ZX10R year after all. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
