First of all, get rid of Norton internet security. Use windows firewall, windows defender and AVG anti virus free edition.
Secondly, why on earth did you pay 37 quid for restore discs? If you've got a valid windows serial number you could quite easily downloaded a copy of windows from the internet then used your valid key to activate it.....
As for recommendations, my last 2 laptops have been Compaq, both have been rock solid. In fact i've recently got rid of my main desktop and now only use these laptops, one is five years old and the other about 6 months.....
The older one has even been dropped and it still chugs along.....
To be honest though it's hard to know what laptop top recommend without knowing what you plan on doing with it....
Hope this helps in some way? |

so norton is a no no then? I just dont want any viruses or shit on my computer. Erm i will use the laptop for general home use, putting music on there, making discs, pictures, videos, etc, my current one is just a bit too slow.
I paid 37 quid for restore discs because i need to restore the computer not install windows over it again, but i also didnt know you could do that |

Would recommend AVG also ____________________ " It is not the goal but the way there that matters and the harder the way the more worthwhile the journey!"
