Not by me, so hopefully not to obsessive.

(I'd be more careful with the WD40 though)

That's what I thought. Few good tips (excluding that) though.

Thanks for that Craig, will come in handy. Although would Paraffin work as well as WD40 all around the bike?

Thumbs Up

Paraffin's what I use with none of the excessive WD40ing dodgyness. The vids have given me the idea to put it in a spray gun too........maybe for when I start work on my CB1.

I'm the same...was watching the above vids last night (they appear on screen after Sparks' new stunt vid) and thinking that I could never put that much effort into cleaning. Whenever I go out to wash my bike I end up riding it instead (I've never washed my current bike).

Anyways, the point of my post: if you're too lazy to do spend hours washing your bike then head to google/yell and search for motorcycle valet. For around £50 you can get a "showroom"* valet and there seems to be quite a few of them about to, I've found one just down the road from me. Despite being tight-fisted I think that's good value (a treat for the bike once a year, or maybe after a winter's riding).

*example: from https://www.trottracing.com/prices.htm £50 gets you:

Pressure wash
De-greasing
Road grime removal
Detailed cleaning of wheels and brakes
Vinyl and plastics dressed/refinished
Engine and running gear weather protected
Chain re-lubed
All bodywork hand polished
Underseat cleaned and dressed

bah, we all know you should lube the inner side of the chain first so centrifugal force works the lube into the rings as you ride. Rolling Eyes

Useful though. Thumbs Up

I dont imagine WD40 on the discs matters because it will evaporate by itself, let alone with all the water and other degreasing, and thats not to mention the scorching heat/friction from braking...

The WD40 wouldn't stand a chance...

Nothing wrong with that. When we fit new disks to cars at work they are coated in WD40 from new to stop them flash rusting.

I also used to put WD40 on the disks on my Old Mini when I was leaving it for a long period of time to stop the disks flash rusting up.

Bit of brake cleaner gets it off. Thumbs Up

I know I should clean my bike, its worth it in the long run, but in all fairness I cant be arsed with all that palaver of taking half the bike apart just to degrease, degrease, degrease, degrease, rinse and then degrease....Laughing

Good vid, I'm sure Craig you could take him Wink

Is he a WD40 salesman?? Very Happy

WAs good but like said im surprised the downpipes (even though he was going to put a system on) didnt get a mention as on a '96 blade they would be Shocked . Also, at the start there is lots of grime around the rearsets and surprised they wernt taken off either.

Good video and gives lots of food for thought Thumbs Up

Laughing yeah I thought that. Was also pushing Autoglym products a lot (although tbh they are pretty good).

As advised when doing my CBT, its always a good idea to give the bike a good clean at least once a week to spot any probs which may be arising such as worn chains etc or stuff which may be coming loose.

Enjoyed watching that, quite tempted just to buy an old bike now and see how clean it can be Thumbs Up
