Yeah, think of the kittens!
On another note, as a few have said:
On a provisional, you can get up to 12 points.
If you pass tomorrow and then get over 6 points on your full license, your banned. If you get over 6 points on your provisional and then pass your test, even 1 point will ban you. I'm having my license sent back as I type with 3 shiny points on, think of your insurance bumping up and go easy on the throttle. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Hey guys, i know that i have made a mistakes in my life, no need to remind me, all of you know the way of learning on mistakes, i got no excuse for speeding but going today arround town on steady 28-30 i got overtaken almost every second, when i speeded up to 35 i still had people going over 40next to me so i am not saying that i am right, i am just saying sometimes you get bad luck... I am not going to receive any more speeding tickets as i am trying my best not to anymore
By the way i didn't received summon letter yet, is there is a kind of a 14days rule to that as well? If it comes after 14 days it's invalid or something? |

Hi
That might apply in town, but just because it is a 30 doesn't mean it is a town. Add to that those areas where they extend the 30 limit a long way out of the town, and the new roads that have defaulted to a 30 limit due to street lighting despite no houses at all (I know one 70 limit dual carraigeway that was a 30 limit for several years after it was built).
All the best

Keith's correct (as usual). As Ive posted on here sooooooo many times before, it's rarely as simple as "The speed limit is the safest top speed".
Round here they reduced several NSL lanes down to 50 & 40 zones, and after extending a dual carriageway/flyover the limit was reduced to 40mph even though it's a two lane straight road.
Still, you won't be the last muppet to com eon here regurgitating PC Speeding Nazi's rubbish. ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

I'm not regurgitating anything.
So you think that 40 outside a school at closing time is acceptable?
I agree that it isn't a maximum be all and end all limit, but saying that most of the time 40 is ok is just plain silly. ____________________ My Flickr |

Well said, you rode like that fully aware of the limits and then whinge because you were caught? Probably doing the rest of us a favour if they did take your license... |
A little sanctimonious, non?
If you ever crash and post about it on here I hope someone replies in the same vane, like "Riding a motorbike weren't you - expect no sympathy"
No-one on here obeys all the limits, all of the time. It's the game we play; and when we get caught we reserve the right to moan about it. |
Um, thats completely different. However, if thats the sort of opinions you hold, then if I do ever crash and post about it on here, your sympathy will hold as little weight to me as that opinion!
Its 53 in a 30, 30 limit being where most people be. People are mostly stupid, stupid people do stupid things - for example, walk into the road without looking, especially children. And no they don't deserve it for being stupid.
If I do 100 in the middle of nowhere and kill myself, then thats my fault for riding like a pratt - If I do 60 in a 30, and cant brake in time for the silly kid who has ran across the road without looking, well, I dont know about you but I'd rather not live with that one.
P.S. If it was at 4am, then bad luck mate. I'm not against speeding, I speed everyday, just not where the stupid people are. ____________________ Suzuki GSX-R750K4 ~ Mivv GP |
