Stiff front wheel

Hi folks,
The front wheel on my SV650 is very stiff. You can turn it by hand but it won't carry on spinning after you let go, and it's a bit stiff to roll the bike around the garage.

It's not the brakes because I've taken them off.

The wheel spins freely, though perhaps not as freely as others, when you first mount it. But as you torque the axle up to 65nm it gets stiffer and stiffer.

I loosened the forks and jiggle-wiggled them a bit incase they were misaligned, but it made no difference.

Is this just normal? The wheel on my SZR660 has no resistance almost. This SV is an '04 model so it's not ancient and worn out.

Try and try again

Happened once on my last sv650. Take the wheel off again and put it back on. Smile

God knows why the hell it does it.

I'll check for free-play in the wheel.

I'm not sure why taking it off and putting it back on would change things, there's only the speedo that could be wrong and that's right Confused

stiff front wheel? sounds like a brake binding situationor could be a done bearing.
