Bike splutters at high revs, had bike a month. replaced plugs and given full service dhecked CDI alles. Puzzelled.. Please help Shocked

try balancing the carbs, im guessing you have a standard setup, and havn't changed the expansion chambers ect,
otherwise a rejet is in order

Could be the carbs just need cleaning out to be honest.

get the carbs out for a clean, check fuel filter and replace if there is one. Make sure your pipe isnt leaking anywhere, and that the airbox and rubbers arent leaking either.

Just the one carb? Do you even have any idea what type of engine an NSR250 has.

no i dont but if itneeds setting up propperly then it needs setting up. one of them could be out.

Could be a number of things. Does it only do it a WOT?. Have you done a plug chop to see if its running rich

When you drop the carbs off check the main jet sizes then have a look on the NSR world forum as they have loads of info for the NSR's

Unballanced carbs will only affect idle.

NSR250 runs powerjets, these are opperated by a solenoid. That would be one area to check, also, make sure the power valves are opening and closing as they should do.

But to be honest, it sounds to me more like a fueling issue. Could just be down to a blocked jet.

only affects idle? on my fzr, if there out it makes for shite running, but idles ok, or is the nsr250 use completely different carb components?

The nsr is TOTALY different to the cv carbs on the FZR. It wouldnt cause high end missfire. I race an RGV myself and these little strokers take a bit of skill to set up properly (not saying the fzr carbs dont Laughing but thems a totaly different kettle of fish!!)

Over the weekend, inspected further, stripped bike down, ran through all electrics, replaced fuel filter, checked plugs, the once cylinder was not burning the plug properly, apon further inspection played around with the throttel sensor attached to the carbs and took bike for a quik spin. Fan perfect, till the next day it was up to no good again. maybe the sensor is causing this? Any similar problems and answers. Were can i purchase spares such as these. Im from South Africa, Durban. Howzit man, been there many times, havent been able to find somthing on the throttel sensor or exactly how to set my RC-Valves for the power-valves.

To set Powervalves start the bike. rev it up to between 1500 - 3000 rpm i think and the powervalves will fully open. Kill the bike with them fully open and then align the marks.

Shot for the help okz, called up one of the local tuners in durban and will be sending bike in for tuning. all else is 100% Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Cool
