Make sure you ask the seller how the bike engine was run in. and also find out what oil it has been running on.
I got around 25K miles on my bike before i decided to do a ring change and even then it didn't need it doing.
Have a look at the gearbox oil level and see the colour of the oil.. that can also indicate what sort of care the bike has been under. other than that just listen to the motor, any whirring then suspect slightly worn bearings... also listen to the PowerValve motor, if its struggling or clicking suspect the exhaust manifold will be gunked up with carbon ____________________ A scientist crossed a skunk with an owl. I'd still do a ring change with that mileage on a 2 stroke. Leave it and you'll be replacing the barrel aswell.
Although not accurate i find simply removing the spark plug, putting bike in gear, and walking with bike whilst holding my thumb over cylinder(spark plug hole) gives enough indication. Does with me anyway, i know when it's good it pops my thumb right off.
How technicals that ____________________ Bikes owned
