I was just thinking about this and why is it 'right' for the toilet seat to be down?
Time to start telling women to "Leave the toilet seat up when you finish!!"

I remember watching something on mythbusters about this, and if I remember correctly they found that if you leave the toilet seat up when you flush you get more poo bacteria on your tooth brush than if the toilet seat is shut.
So yeh just shut it totally . ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

My mum always goes on about this, even though it does not affect her in anyway
Except the poo all over her teeth. ____________________ Stupid Young Tw@ts Clan 2007 - Sponsored By Powerthirst

One (or both) of my little brothers piss all over the toilet seat if it is down. Lazy cunts!
It is such a lovely surprise when I go for a late night shit, only to turn on the light to be greeted with a piss covered toilet seat. |

Oh the joy of having 4 bathrooms
Well 2 en-suite bathrooms and two normal ones.
Tis shocking when you go in your own bathroom to find that your bro has almost deliberately pissed on the seat and wall. ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

According to Feng Shui, if you leave your toilet seat up (and apparently all the plugs out your sinks) all your wealth will pour down them and (presumably) away.
I try to keep the seat down for the as mentioned before toothbrush/poo/piss argument.

Why do you think toilets have a seat cover?
It is true, that if the toilet is flushed with the cover up, micro droplets of water, laden with urine and fecal matter, are spread around the area for quite some way.
So, if you're happy to orally take in particles of your own, and other peoples shit, fine, keep the seat cover up.
Mine is always put down, prior to flushing, so my other half has no complaints there. |

It get's sprayed up to six feet into the air when you flush according to recent findings. Taking this into consideration, it's pretty hard to leave the seat up when you should close the lid!
The actual having to sort it before sitting on it doesn't bother me, as long as there's no pee on the seat! The hygiene issues concern me though.
| DEN MONKEY wrote: | If they have the right to go on about it then we have the right to wonder why only half of them manage to flush correctly after a piss and not leave that little fold of paper in there after they've dried their bits.
Seriously how hard is that ?? |
I'd say no harder than cleaning off the skid marks on the pan with a toilet brush (hint hint)
The thing is, if you wipe the seat after using it, (flushable parazone wipes are great) the cistern is still filling up and won't allow the flush to go again! ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!

Can't say I've ever personally managed to flush the toilet in a way that it completely misses the loo paper.
Poo particle argument aside, I've never understood why some men demand that the toilet seat stay up and some women demand that it stay down. I never saw the problem in just moving it if it's not how you want it. It only takes a second. And then if you happen to go for a pee twice in the time your friend-of-other-sex has gone at all, then it's how you left it so you don't need to move it at all anyway.
But then again, our bathroom is separate to the toilet so I don't need to worry about getting poo on my toothbrush. ____________________ The tiger who came for a pint |

ha this reminds me of the toilets in Wanchai in 93, in a government building , the government is dead tight on the budget there so they never ever ever ever ever cleaned the toilets, they effectively were worse than the Manchester Hacienda toilets,
you went across the landing and you could smell it already and would gag at the smell , inside was worse in that there were just toilets no urinals , which were all filled to the brim with turds , most people including me on the 2nd day of going there went down the 17 flights of stairs down the escalator across the sky bridge across to the Mc'ds to use theirs. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Myself and Andrea have spoke about this topic afew months back. We came to the decision that with it being an even household you leave it as you use it.
Though for arguments sake you could say that the toilet seat spends most of its life down due to the fact men sit when they shit |
