XENON HID CONVERSION KITS

Evenin all.

Stumbled across these on Ebay and am tempted to give them a whirl seein as them dark winter nights are about to set in.

Just wondered if anyones had, seen or experienced these light kits before?

When I looked at HID Kits last year they were all £100+ so I'd be wary of them being that cheap. Other than that I've heard they're absolutely brilliant. One of the bike mags showed the difference last year and the HID ballast kit looked like the light spread you'd get from a car.

Hi,i cant speak much for these 2 Ebay examples cus they look very cheap to me but I work in the Car industry and we sell them for motors.

Nowadays cost about £150 for the cheapest H4 bulb set and they are well worth they money for as long as the bulb lasts because the cheapest replacment bulb is £90!!

The bikes may be a bit different but not sure how cus all my bikes take the H4.

High Intensity Discharge bulbs are by far a better bulb that burn on Xeon gas rarther than a filiment.Then only draw 35W rather than 55W but they use a convertor box that converts it to a massive amount off light numans.

In all unquestionably a better bulb and honestly is like the difference between night and day,but I would be warey off cheap imatations.

xenon bulbs use a differnt gas thats all, i'm gettin some for the fizzer soon, there cheap enough so worth the gamble, if your after super brights then a HID upgrade is what you want, but xenon bulbs are brighter than normal halogen ones and reduce yellowin light.

Given that the first eBay link is from China and the second from Hong Kong, I'd say they were Chinese. This explains the ludicrously low price and will open your eyes to quality control, or lack there of if you ever buy them.

After looking at various HID kits from places that want 140 pounds plus like hids4u it seems that they probably get their stock from china anyway. The ballasts looks very similar and only the stickers seem different.
I bought a set for 46 quid off ebay that so far work fine and are a huge improvement. in fact i've just sold the 1 i had left for 25 quid plus postage. Took 6 days to arrive from hong kong, and i cant see any obvious quality issues as yet. If it stops working in 6 months time i'll buy another one.
My advice is get some if you do any riding at night, the difference is fecking massive. You see better and people see you better too.

the ones frome diane_shop are shit hot.i`ve had a couple of sets from them and a few friends have bought from them and the quality is spot on, no failures and the parts are all consistent.

Bought a pair of Xenon bulbs for a couple of quid & they make quite a big difference over the yellowish stock.

Didnt buy the conversions but got some HID blubs.
Bandit likes are just rubbish, and couldnt really see anything without full beam. Changed em over and it was a good improvement.
Going to do the same with the SV - altho I was thinking of giving up riding at night time. I just cant see the road.

What actually comprises the HID conversion kit? (The images for the ebay advert are blocked at work) I have xenon bulb and they are better than standard and only cost £12 the pair.

They look tempting.
I ride alot in the dark so would be great for me, my high beam's ok, but normal isn't so good.

It is just a simple plug it in job? cba to fiddle around with all the wiring, (capable, just lazy )

If you buy the right bulb type you wont have to cut any wires if you dont want to. Just mount the ballast in your fairing, connect ballast to bulb, then connect the wires coming off the bulb to your normal bulb connectors. I used insulation tape to hold the connectors in place. The only thing you might have to do is work out which wire is power and which is earth on your headlamp connector. So that you dont fry it.

MCN ninjas did a bulk order of those chinese ones and they said they worked a treat because apparently, you only pay for 1x shipping costs. So if everybody bulk orders, it'll be stonkingly cheap mind. I wanted to fork out 100 quid on the HID's 4 U one, but I might just get the ebay one in due course (after my MOT and bike gets resprayed). Either that or get philips vision extreme which is meant to be the best halogens out there. HID's would look cool, but then again, there's the type approval issue since i read something about them having to be self levelling so as not to blind people etc or summat. Sod it, i'm gonna ride in winter so i'll need em anyway!
