Need to get a holder for the Aprilia, can't really find anywhere to mount it anyway, so going to chuck it under the seat as they look bloody ugly anyway.

What do you do?

I chose under the seat, but really it's in my wallet, as under the seat can get damp. Smile

After losing 4 one year, I gave up mounting it on the bike.

Can you get done for not displaying your tax disk?

I thought the offence was the fact you were not displaying it - but with the database checks they have now I would hope that they would relax this.

In the modern age having to rely on sticking a bit of paper on the bike is a little antiquated.

Yes

£60

But by and large they can't expect you to keep displaying if it keep getting nicked. It's £20 for a new un.

Even Traffic wardens can check the database if they want to.

My Gas Gas has a little plastic holder that wraps around the top of the left fork leg. It is displayed and doesn't look to obvious. It also means you don't have to bolt extra weight onto the bike!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I think legally it should be placed in the triangle between front wheel and engine, on left hand side, although when I bought the bike it was mounted near rear pillion peg and chain guard, so there it has stayed. I have been routinely stopped and bike checked over and police said nothing about its position. They did try telling me that the factory fitted, standard exhaust wasn't legal though Shocked

Thinking about it. what is the point showing you're tax disc because with the new system (bar codes) linked to dvla, the cops know if you have taxed or not, so whats the point... sorry forgot the extra revenue Rolling Eyes

Mine is fitted on the left as fitted when new. If anyone wishes to view it they are welcome to clean the bike while they're at it as it's pretty oily down there! Laughing

Used to be mounted under one of my front left caliper bolts but since I changed my tyres, when re-fitting the calipers I forgot to put the tax disk holder back on so its under the rear seat now with the tool kit.

When I want to park illegally, I can un-velcro my reg plate and put it under the seat too. That way there is no reg plate markings on the bike. Laughing Wink
