The guy assaulted was accused of drink driving, but was never charged. Sounds like some fabrication by the assaulting copper to me...

I know everyone here hates the police - but there is nothing in that story to prove the ALLEGED assault. No use of force incident sounds or looks pleasant or tidy, so the tape alone proves nothing.

Tip of the ice-berg. For every extremely rare case of the police being caught bang to rights there are hundreds where their word alone is enough to escape even investigation, never mind prosecution.

99% of the public really don't have a clue what the uniformed thugs get up to.

Fuck off you tit - as usual, you jump straight in at the deep end without bothering to read (or at least address) the whole post.

There's nothing wrong with hating corrupt cops - there just isn't any proof of it being the case here yet.

Your inability to actually hold a reasonable line of argument is almost enough to move me to tears.

Living in Swansea, the city in which the alleged assault took place, I can very well believe the copper did give the guy a good beating.
Its also quite likely, that the bloke stopped was drink driving, but the fact he was not charged, suggests that this may not have been the case.

My dealings with the police in Swansea have more often than not involved threatening and unprofessional conduct by the officer(s) involved, brought about by random "stop checks" at night on lonely roads. Some examples are way out accusations, , implications, verbal abuse, attempts at intimidation and harassment. Could be down to my age, but I'm not exactly a shrimpy, chopsy young chav on the rob Laughing I do always ask for names and badge numbers now and since reporting two last year, I've been left alone *touch wood*

Saw a mate getting the shit kicked out of him by an old copper, me and another mate were running over when we got thrown onto the side of the van by 2 other coppers and asked if we wanted that to happen to us. Neither of us did, like. Copper was punching my mate in the stomach even though he had been cuffed.

Went to police complaints about it, but I was in ganja-world during that period and couldn't be arsed to follow it up.

should have recorded it on video, that said there have been plenty of videos even CCTV footage of cops blatantly attacking members of the public and or attacking prisoners as they are restrained (there is this video about a man who was hit by a cop car and the police are standing over him gloating refusing to get him an ambulance the man was innocent this story seems to have been swept under the carpet).

"His thumb was in my eye and I was in extreme pain. I thought I would lose my eye and was in fear of my life and I struck him twice to the side of the head in self defence" - Corrupt b*stard.

Just what I'd expect. Most people would have grabbed the alleged gouging thumb and simply pushed it away. I hope they both lose their jobs and the aggressor is made to cough up 'ten large' for compo.

no all of a sudden this man will have found to be a rapist , an illegal migrant and or have drugs in his system , classic police technique ie smear that person, happened with that Brazilian guy,

At which paedo images will be found on his computer etc....

Classic police techniques , which were exposed in the De menzes execution ,

also with the botched chemical bomb raid where the guy was accidentally shot, and the cops found paedo porn on his PC which hasn't been followed up....

also the same with those two guys prevented by a mob from taking a flight who happened to be also have paedo porn found on their home PCs.

Actually, most personal protection techniques would consider blows to the head a swift and acceptable way to remove the threat. Were you to threaten my health and well-being in such a fashion, I would cheerfully belabour you about the head/bollocks/stomach/whatever. I fail to see what is corrupt about that - and I would also point out that it is easy to criticise UoF incidents when you weren't actually the one being (allegedly) attacked.

Yeah, and the person teaching them can't have ever been in the situation himself. I've had my thumbs in many an eye socket, and no amount of blows to any part of my person ever got them out. What did work, sometimes, was the guy grabbing my arms and pulling them clear, usually by which point I'd already done the damage and wasn't trying particularly hard anymore to stop him. In fact I can't really remember anyone relying on blows to dislodge me, probably more likely that they were residual blows as the guy realised his eyes were under threat and shifted tactics to grabbing my arms. It's instinct.

I've had guys try to gouge my eyes too, and I've prevented it by taking their arms/wrists and violently twisting my head around, not by punching them.

So unless the copper is a total retard he's talking pure BS.

I've resorted to it only when I've been under direct threat of serious harm, which hasn't been often. Usually a couple of left & right handers sees an end to the affair.

in any job, some people will use methods to get the job done that they arent supposed to

in any job, there will be some people who abuse their position for their own amusement

i have only chatted to three policemen socially, and both have described events that would be considered crimes, but werent treated as such, as the criminals were police officers going about their normal day.

Assault is accepted, and easily justified. The debate amongst police officers seems to be more about those who think no force is excessive, and those who think that there should be some self control. None question a fellow officer assualting people, only disapprove a bit when it seems excessive.

Violence is part of the job, so they dont find it shocking or even something that serious.

Indeed. So far as the police are concerned criminal assault is an institutionalised perk of the job.

They don't half squeal when they're getting some back on their driveway in the early hours of the morning though.

much as I hate surviellance I think those helmet mounted cams are the way forward, no helmet cam evidence = no arrest,

video evidence conviently goes missing trust word of the suspect instead.

but as said its been video'd many times and nothing ever gets done.

That's because the state has no interest in justice when it's the state vs the suspect. But when it's the suspect vs the state suddenly the rule of law becomes paramount.

If the state truly cared about justice and the universal rule of law they would equip the police with armoured hard-drives connected to an armoured camera+mic mounted in a non-removable armoured helmet (non-removable by suspects using violent means in the field).

I mean, gee, they have no problems spending thousands per police man on offensive weaponry, so why not something that would both aid in the prosecution of genuine offenders and prevent police abuse of suspects (and innocent citizens)?

The state is a brutal occupying force that obeys no rule of law whatsoever.

Indeed, a totally innocent man can have his brains splattered all over the inside of a train carriage by agents of the state and NOBODY is held accountable. Gee, fancy that in a so-called free modern western democracy.

The only language these filthy, sub-human, degenerate scum understand is violence. Every single politician and pig should be dragged out of bed at 4am and put up against a wall. Once that's done we can all get together and elect some decent human beings to run our country. People who care about people; ALL people, not just a select few.

Time to rattle the cage me thinks... Laughing

Good, you want to drink and drive? You should be beaten within an inch of your life. Not a few points, fine and maybe taken off the road for a year (which most people will probably drive again during that time anyway)

Drunk drivers = Complete and utter tossers
Drugged drivers = Complete and utter totters

but drink driving is an easy to prove case , breath test they refuse then you still have them under the provisions of that law, to be taken for a blood test.

but the case here was that there was no case to answer otherwise he would be facing a drink driving case which he isn't

It's weird how different amounts of drugs and alcohol affect different drivers. I used to regularly drive home after a night clubbing, perfectly safely at 30mph, pixel-perfect, having consumed multiple shots (we're talking 12+ 40%-proof WKD) and numerous pills. That included reacting to drunks walking into the road in front of me.

Then another guy goes off on a mad one at 70mph+ after three pints of lager and has a horrendous crash.

One size fits all, eh? Laughing

(Disclaimer: I'm joking about driving on drink and drugs. I don't drink and I don't do drugs. I'm not even sure I drive. Must be the acid. Just say no.)

Ooh, ooh, I mustn't forget all the times I've driven from Brighton to Eastbourne on acid. And taken a mate for a birthday blast on the first Blade I had, both of us on acid (140mph+ reached down the Polegate bypass).

Of course, I must have been dreaming, because I didn't crash and no kittens were killed.

Here's a fvcking clue Yoko...it's not an inability to drive safely at legal speeds under the influence that causes accidents, it's tw@ts driving beyond their abilities under the influence that does it. Speeds at which they would crash sober, never mind p!ssed.

I'm walking proof of that. Thirty+ years of it. Concentrate, obey the speed limit, and you won't cause any harm.

But of course, if some tosser jumps a red-light and t-bones you, and he's sober and you're drunk, you'll get the blame. Funny that, ain't it?

The law is a cock-sucking ass. Wink

However, I happen to agree with the drink-driving law, to a point. The unfortunate fact is alcohol and drugs have a tendency to make young people think they're Niki Lauder, at which point they drive beyond their ability and have accidents.

What the law should restrict itself to is heavily penalising anyone who causes an accident while over the limit or on drugs. More logical and fair, wouldn't you agree?

Get 100 people to run across the M25 blind folded and I bet some will make it across.

There are people out there who've smoked 40 a day since they were 12, are now 90 years old and in good health. And they say smoking kills right??

You drive drunk and on drugs... Whooooo aint you da big bad man!!!

So you proven you are a complete and utter tosser. Well done.

believe it or not, drugs and alcohol, will impare your ability to react to situations

you may be able to drive home safely when drunk as long as no one steps out into the road, or pulls out on you, but if anything out of the ordinary happens, you wont react as well as your sober self would.
its like you are on auto pilot

its true that some sober drivers are more dangerous than drunk drivers, but its easier to prosecute for a measurable transgression

there is little doubt that our roads are safer since drink driving has become sociable unacceptable in most circles

more than that, they got to say that they were proud of what they had done, even though by some fluke entirely not their fault, they had killed an innocent man

even later suggesting that he must have been under the influence of drugs and behaving strangely which made it ok to perceive him as a threat

the only kind of rebuke has been under health and safety rules, when they deliberately killed a guy, who was not a threat to anyone.

just shows that the common mantra that 'you have nothing to fear if you have done nothing wrong', which accompanies all increases to police powers, is bullshit
