A bit of a weird one here.....

I just sold my wifes Gilera Cogaur on ebay, got what I wanted for it so I'm happy.

The bloke who bought it came up from London on the train, I picked him up from the station and brought him to my house.

He was Czechoslovakian.

Did the paperwork etc. got the money and off he went... 5 yards.
Stalled it three times. Then he got going and went off up the road revving the t*ts off it in first. Turned round and came back and asked me which way the gears were Shocked

I showed him and off he went and disapeared into the traffic.

FFS hes going to drive it down the A5 from Milton Keynes to London and if he makes it I will be amazed.

I felt like telling him to get off and not be so stupid, but the £'s in my back pocket over ruled my better judgement.

I'm feeling really guilty now so I'm foistering it on you lot.

Fine, it's being an arse, but that's business...I would have done the same, and when I sold my TZR I ripped the guy off completely, and I usually am not like that. When it comes to selling a bike you have to be ruthless in my opinion, cause you have to consider that everyone is doing the same to you

Well I bought the bike mint secondhand with about 600 miles on the clock. I tuned it up (cylinder, crank, carb and exhaust)
Cylinder lasted me 9 days. Bought another one, Lasted a few months, I then put everything back original, but the bike was so messed up internally that I'd gone from a top speed of 100kmh indicated to 85 Shocked
The bike in general was shite when I sold it and had a big scratch from a slow fall on one side, and small scratches on the other from dropping it once. I got 1600 euro for it, and I'll be damned if it was worth even 1000...

Sure, just wondered how you ripped him off - letting someone overpay for a bike is different than outright lying about the condition of componenents, is all.

Well let's just say I didn't really mention the fact that it was a shithole that had lost 15% of it's top speed...

Well I sold my hinging old GPZ500 to a bloke on ebay. I was ruthlessly honest as to its condition. He paid about double what I was expecting for it. I initially felt guilty but then realised he was prepared to pay that much for it.

He had a good chance to go over it and signed the bill of sale stating it was sold as seen.
