Ive had a Yoshimura RS3 exhaust and a K&N filter fitted. I took it to get re-jetted and dyno'd but ever since all this stuff has been fitted the bike's performance has suffered, (its a 1999 Bandit 1200).

Were the end can is attached to the connection pipe has started to leak and now there’s black all around the area (not good I’m assuming) also the bike judders whilst going slow (mostly in 1st and second gear).
I’ve had enough, I only really use the bike for commuting anyway so god knows why I fiddled about with it in the first place.

Basically I want to go back to stock, what do I need to do. Can I just put the old exhaust and air filter back on? Do I need to take it to the garage to get it un re-jetted etc??

(sorry, I don’t really know my ar5e from my elbow when it comes to how bikes work, I just love riding them)

Cheers

If the gargae fitted it all, including doing the jetting. Take it back to them and tell them its not running right since they fitted it and get them to sort it out for you.

If you fitted the pipe, and they done the jetting, they should still sort it out for you. Did they set it up on a dyno?

Thumbs Up

Only soot from the exhaust, probably just needs tightening up a tad.

I fitted the pipe and filter, they did all the jetting and set the thing up on the dyno.

I was going to go back to the garage, the only problem is its miles away from where I live. I had the work done and then moved house. pretty much straight after!

Putting it back to stock won't be all that difficult - you can get the carb settings and jet sizes from a workshop manual, for the cost of jets and needles you might as well get new ones. While you have the carbs apart take it as an oppurtunity to give them a really good clean.

Balance the carbs when you put it all back together too, does a world of good.
