How often do you reset yours.
I know some people that live off of theirs but I hardly use mine I will occasionally reset it at the start of a month or week depending on if I go on any ride outs.

This was reset 2 weeks ago
To be honest I know that when the fuel light comes on I know I have done about 80miles and to take it easy and I should easily get 10 miles on the the reserve. ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

I've got two trips on mine, one I reset at each fuel stop 150 miles approx, and the second I only set/reset if I'm going for a ride/journey and want to keep a note of the mileage. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

I have 2 trips on mine, I reset trip 1 whenever I go on a decent ride, I like to know how many miles I am getting per gallon/litre whatever, trip 2 I hardly use. I usually have mine showing as the clock though and only look at miles when I get home - if I remember ____________________ Enjoy everyday, tell those you love everyday you love them

My R6 has got two trips as well. I reset the first one each time I fuel up so I know roughly how many miles I've got until I'll need fuel again. I reset the second one every time I lube my chain, and that way as long as I do it again before I reach 500 (dry) miles, I'm well on top of maintenance. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

After every fill up for me too (if i remember)
It's a good indicator to see if the bikes running as it should.
I know what mpg to expect,so if it drops i know somethings not right with the bike.

After every fill up. Usually fill up about 120 miles (light comes on then) Once saw 157 miles before I filled up, must have been running on fumes!! ____________________ Sheep Shagger |

Like many others I reset mine at every fill up...
I've done it with all my bikes and as I have a very low level neurotic kind of OCD it enables me to relax and enjoy my rides without worrying about when or if the fuel light is going to come on
I just like to know what to expect. Also as Justmetoo125 says it also allows you to know how the bike is running... My NC30 was well under expected mpg when I first bought it and after a valve clearance and carb balance it gained around 35 extra miles per tank. ____________________ Current Bikes - Kawasaki ZX-6R (636) | BMW G650GS |

Used to do it every time i filled up (I had a fuel gauge) more because i could keep an eye on how many mpg i was getting.
Current bike doesnt have a gauge or trip, I just fill up when i hit reserve (Bit annoying when you dont get the tap round quick enough though) ____________________ www.oldskoolsuzuki.info |

I also reset it after every fill up, as has been said before, gives me a rough idea of how much further I can go before I need to start looking for a petrol station. ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Yup, no fuel guage or light on my bike either but I don't always reset at every fillup, if I'm out for a long ride or a weekend away I reset before I set off then leave it for the duration of the ride to see how many miles I've done (I just have to rememebr what it was on at the last fillup to be sure I'm in plenty of time for the next one......... ) ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |
