Made a start this week after collecting up most of the parts l need, stage one is to fit a front and rear RGV vj22 on to a 1985 RD350 YPVS 31k and to sort out any issues while the bike is still in a ruff state.

Second stage is to strip the bike down weld in a new section on the frame to replace a welding bodge on the side stand which had snapped off in the past (common ypvs weakness) and to powder coat the frame and other bits plus have the tank and side panels painted.

Also l have plans to fit a cheetah 470cc kit from trinity racing in the USA and new pipes made up to suit the cylinders (push in fit as found on pre 80,s bikes as the kit is meant for the yahama banshee quadbike)

Just waiting for bushes and spacers to come back from the engineering shop and l can carry on fitting the RGV swingarm and shock

What'd you mean about push in pipes on pre 80's bikes?

Interesting project. Most folks tend to stick the LC motor into the RG frame. Expect it'll look good though. I always fancied an LC myself. Biggest 2 stroker I ever rode was an aging IT175.
A mate of mine had an IT465 but he wouldn't let anyone ride it. Crying or Very sad

This will be good, Tatters should have returned to his 2-stroke roots a long time ago.

Fitted the RGV shock and adjustable linking plates (allows adjustment of rear end hight) plus connection rods and made a start on the front end.

just waiting for a new set of swing arm bearings as the old ones were fu*ked.

Big stuff is all done just need to finish the smaller jobs and source some clocks, had to chop off the rear pegs as they were rubbing on the swingarm but will space out a spare set l have at a later time.

Due to the my knee injury and a lack of will to finish a bike that is too small for me l,m offering it up for sale, the bike is mostly complete apart from the RGV ingention switch and clocks needs wiring in and the brakes bleed plus a bit of tiding up and powder coating/paint the RGV parts.

The bike runs fine and is MOT/Taxed till 31st of may plus l have all the required parts to put it back to a stock RD as well as spare RGV parts, damged parts inculde the left exhaust can and a dent on the left side of the fuel tank due to a low speed low slide.

Total cost of the project was around the £2500 mark (£1000 for the RGV parts alone) l,m not expecting to get my money back as that would be silly but any sensible offers welcome.
