depends 10 bhp to 20 i'd guess a well set up zorst on its own can give you a good 5bhp and k&n carbs will get you an extra 4 or 5? dunno about the full system mabye an extra 3. i'd guess that much, maybe even more? depends on who sets it up and how well set up it is.
10 to 20's a safe bet or maybe more, dont know.

i would suggest that you should ask the fitment before buying to get the right fit.

ok i get that the can is already yours, but if you wait, measure the diameter of the can then you have a fitment for your full system so you can order it according to your can diameter?

I believe the akro can for the J1 is a 3 bolt type, I'm not sure if the downpipes would be the same.

A can would have to be made for the bikes orginal exhaust, whereas a full system would have the can as a slip on for weight saving I would imagine.

https://www.akrapovic.net/product-lines/road-program/

Check out the systems on here they are all slip-ons,

I'm fairly sure the J1 standard exhaust is bolt on (It is the same fittment as my bike) so therefore the can that fits the standard downpipes wouldn't fit the system.

ive not had a chance to look at a full system really , yeah its a three bolt on can. will have to wait and see what the can looks like and if there is a kit i could use to change the can as they have a load of repair kits for all there products so i might be able to change the fixing that way??

It won't be easy in the slightest, If you want the full system you should buy the whole thing as one, thats the point it replaces the full system. You won't be able to modify (or it will be extremely difficult) it to fit the system from a 3 bolt.

If it was a slip on can it'd be a little easier but as it's a bolt on it makes things nigh on impossible to get the downpipes to get on. If it was a slip on you'd be able to find out which product line the pipe's from and buy the appropiate downpipes for it.

Power gain wise, once the carb's are set up and jetted i'd say you're looking at around from 15-20 bhp tops. It'll definitley make a noticeable amount of difference and sound awesome if that's what you mean. And it's Akrapovic Wink

just to confirm, F,G,J etc model ZX6R's have 3 bolt fits and WOULD not work with the after market downpipes since all are slip one. Got this problem now. I got a slip on swona system but cant put on my bolt on standard on. I'd be VERY surprised if you get 15bhp - maybe 10 at the rear wheel. Dynotyme is going to be bloody expensive and i'm not looking forward to getting my bike rejetted! Evil or Very Mad

Hi

Another vote for it being unlikely the replacement can would fit the Akrapovic down pipes.

And another vote for a small power gain. You might gain 15~20hp on a bike with a rubbish stock system like the 1200 Bandit. Suspect probably nearer half that on the ZX6R.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Quick look in an old Demon Tweeks lists the power gain from a ZX6R G1-G2 / J1-J2 full system as being 5.1hp.

All the best

The 7R has a full Akro system on it with an after market k&N filter, sounds lush but has a few tiny flat spots here and there depsite being being dynojetted.

The gains in power will be less than you think.

The sound was fantastic, but mine had no midrange, you had to be all on or nothing. Laughing

That is the effect of dumping the EXUP valve.

All the best

i wasnt expecting huge gains from a full system around 5 bhp maybe a little more and as for flat spots the j1 has lumpy fueliing down low anyway hopefully the dynojet kit will sort that out.

i really just want a nicer sound and look with a bit more power

As for sounds they do sound good with a nice deep note, but if I may be so bold, my Yoshi slip on for the ZXR sounded better but was beaten hands down by the Leo Vince can on the FZR. That sounded like a F1 car. Laughing
