the previous owner of my bike was ran in to but then he
rear end of the bike was replaced and he got it back on the road.
but now he is being payed out, so would this make my bike a cat c?
i have the mot booked for friday. are they going to check every nut and bolt if it is a cat c. also how much does this devalue the bike, even though its been fully rebuilt?
however i ony think he is claiming for his personal injury not acctualy for the damage on the bike. would it still effect my bike?
any help and advice much apretiated
cheers
Joe

If it was fixed under insurance then it may not be a cat C or D write off.
Did he get full payment for the bike and buy it back from the insurance or just get the amount to get it fixed ?

Cat C bikes do not need "tested"

Did you get an HPI check on it when you bought it ?

Whether it is cat c (or whatever other category) is down to how the random insurance assessor classified it when they wrote it off. If they haven't classified it as a write off then it is not on the insurance register as any category of write off.

Value will be lower. Some people won't touch it and others will be far more careful (one way theives process stolen bikes is to give them the identity of a bike based on a crashed frame, hence a pefect condition bike recorded as a write off is a warning sign for a stolen bike).

All the best

Keith

If it's not an insurance write off then it can't be an insurance write off. Wink

Doesn't matter how much he gets for injuries it won't affect the catagory of the claim on the bike.
