I don't mean by adhering to the spirit of the law, but following the letter of the law.

I know things are neither big nor clever, but I couldn't go day by day and stick to the letter of the law regarding speeds and lane discipline.

Needless to say that even sitting on the bike and starting it up would break the law as the can is after market and has no Kite mark / stamp on it, could be louder though.

I've often ridden the bike up and down the garages out the back of my house without a lid on when testing various bits and bobs, never on a road but still part of the public highways.

I've often parked in a pay and display bay and not bothered to get a ticket as where do you suppose that I stick it. The same goes for parking on pavements.

How many have dark visors?

How many have a 33bhp certificate and have a 33+bhp bike thats unrestricted.

How many are riding without a CBT (if its applicable not you oldies)?

How many forgo tax and insurance?

How many have one for the road?

Could you be 100% legal?

Hi

Could I be? Err, probably not on everything for any length of time.

And that is from someone who generally keeps to having a legal exhaust and doesn't go that quickly.

All the best

Keith

often use pay & display car parks but dont buy a ticket, only park on pavement when there is still enough space to get pushchairs/wheelchiars past without my bike being damaged.

tinted insert but it does have not for road use on.

Never have and never will. Want a payout if i get crashed into or I fall off.

Whosthedaddy wrote:

never on the bike, but have had a drink and then drove later

Can anyone say that they are 100%, never gone over the speed limit, overtaken on zig zags or similar?

My bike's legal, 100%. I have a dark visor though, race can and small plate to follow.

I couldn't keep to the law when riding though, the law's an arse.

I think that keeping yourself legal from a doumentary perspective, is relatively simple, just make sure you have it taxed, MOT'd and insured and that you have an appropriate license. As far as following the letter of the law 100% whilst using a bike on the road - I think that's not possible.

I make sure my bikes are road legal (give or take an MOT Tester's slight deafness), taxed and insured with legal plates.

Can't say as much for the person who rides them. I don't think it's possible. Sooner or later you'll have to accelerate out of trouble for instance.

the only one I dis-obey is the speed limit, everything else on the bike is legal and I never drink & drive/ride

I did come over all sensible and finally got round to changing the plate back to a standard size, but in the same breath, I will need a plate thats 6x4 or smaller to not foul the rear wheel on the monkey.

My bike's always 100% legal, and I could easily be if I wanted to. In fact, 90% of the time I am. Occasionally I, erm, make progress but never enough to attract attention, but if I got points, I'd stop even that.

My small one was 7 x 5 and that's a bit too small, it doens't cover the whole hanger, so looks a bit shit. 8 x 6 should be fine though.

8x6 might still be tight if I'm honest, maybe a cardboard cut out would be a good idea before splashing some cash.

I am 100% legal here, I have my licence, insurance and the bike is tested.

In the UK I don't think so Laughing

I am illegal most of the time (I think) due to the goggles I wear - neither have a kite- or e-mark and one pair has a blue tint.

Anyone who claims to be 100% legal 100% of the time is talking bollox imo.

I always obey filtering laws, higher chance of falling off and needing your insurance/being able to blame the cager! I'm always insured but tax and MOT sometimes doesn't happen when it should. My bikes are always safe to ride.

Speed limit wise, whatever I think is safe, I wouldn't go down the oxford road much more than 25mph but then there are plenty of roads round here where I do the naughty side of a ton.

Iridium tinted visor & over 33bhp bike, I generally find it a challenge staying below any speed limits too...

...on the race tracks of course officer! Shifty

What's wrong with tinted visor's?
I was under the impression that they are now legal during the day, my visor even says - If tinted, for daytime use only.

I can't think of a single significant law I haven't broken, either here or elsewhere in the world. And I doubt there's a single adult in this country who hasn't been criminalised in some way by the joke that passes for our legal system.

I shit and piss on the law. And that's about what it's worth. Nuthin'.

Bike's currently all above the law. There have been times when ive been riding in the time between renewing my tax. Only for a couple of days though.

Only had restricters in my bike for 1 month of the 2 year restriction period. Thats long gone now though thankfully.

Used to ride a CCM supermoto with a G-Force megaphone race can. That definatly wasnt road legal Laughing

I dont think i could ever ride within every law of the road. It wouldnt be worth me having a bike if i did. If i speed and get caught. It's no-ones fault but my own. As long as i'm not riding in a way that will harm/kill someone innocent thats ok with me.

Doesn't mean it is legal for use in the UK during the day. Visors must transmit a large amount of light to be legal in the UK which means the amount of tint is barely noticeable. As such pretty much any tinted visor is not intended for the UK market and markings on them are irrelevant as far as UK law goes.

All the best

Keith

Bike 100%, I'm only not using it right now because I'm waiting for it to be MOT'd.

As for me, I do go faster than certain limits advise but I think you get grace if your reasonable. I How can I not be on a 125? Laughing

P.S, wouldn't ride without CBT, voids insurance and that's very bad. Thumbs Up
