I don't mean by adhering to the spirit of the law, but following the letter of the law.
I know things are neither big nor clever, but I couldn't go day by day and stick to the letter of the law regarding speeds and lane discipline.
Needless to say that even sitting on the bike and starting it up would break the law as the can is after market and has no Kite mark / stamp on it, could be louder though.
I've often ridden the bike up and down the garages out the back of my house without a lid on when testing various bits and bobs, never on a road but still part of the public highways.
I've often parked in a pay and display bay and not bothered to get a ticket as where do you suppose that I stick it. The same goes for parking on pavements.
How many have dark visors?
How many have a 33bhp certificate and have a 33+bhp bike thats unrestricted.
How many are riding without a CBT (if its applicable not you oldies)?
How many forgo tax and insurance?
How many have one for the road?
Could you be 100% legal? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

often use pay & display car parks but dont buy a ticket, only park on pavement when there is still enough space to get pushchairs/wheelchiars past without my bike being damaged.

Can anyone say that they are 100%, never gone over the speed limit, overtaken on zig zags or similar? |

My bike's legal, 100%. I have a dark visor though, race can and small plate to follow.
I couldn't keep to the law when riding though, the law's an arse. ____________________ My Flickr |

I think that keeping yourself legal from a doumentary perspective, is relatively simple, just make sure you have it taxed, MOT'd and insured and that you have an appropriate license. As far as following the letter of the law 100% whilst using a bike on the road - I think that's not possible. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I did come over all sensible and finally got round to changing the plate back to a standard size, but in the same breath, I will need a plate thats 6x4 or smaller to not foul the rear wheel on the monkey. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

My bike's always 100% legal, and I could easily be if I wanted to. In fact, 90% of the time I am. Occasionally I, erm, make progress but never enough to attract attention, but if I got points, I'd stop even that. ____________________ My other bike's a Monster... |

Bike's currently all above the law. There have been times when ive been riding in the time between renewing my tax. Only for a couple of days though.
Only had restricters in my bike for 1 month of the 2 year restriction period. Thats long gone now though thankfully.
Used to ride a CCM supermoto with a G-Force megaphone race can. That definatly wasnt road legal
I dont think i could ever ride within every law of the road. It wouldnt be worth me having a bike if i did. If i speed and get caught. It's no-ones fault but my own. As long as i'm not riding in a way that will harm/kill someone innocent thats ok with me. |

Bike 100%, I'm only not using it right now because I'm waiting for it to be MOT'd.
As for me, I do go faster than certain limits advise but I think you get grace if your reasonable. I How can I not be on a 125?
P.S, wouldn't ride without CBT, voids insurance and that's very bad. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Get some better happy pills, hit the gym & buy a medallion the size of a dinner plate. Job done |
