helmets in the sun

no, this isnt Channel 4s latest vacation program, so I apologise to anyone who thought it was.

riding with this low sun in winter is gettin to be a real pain. I find myself having to guard my eyes from the sun with my hand which is anything but ideal.So it looks like it might be time for a new helmet.Apart from the Caberg range, can anyone name any other helmets that have a tinted internal visor??

tempting. but since im gonna be spendin money either way, i fancy a better quality helmet with a bit less road noise hopefully.I might just end up buying a new helmet with a tinted visor.I like the agv s4.just wanted to see what was on the market with a double visor

You could of course just get a tinted insert that reacts to the light so you wouldn't have to worry about if the sun suddenly went in and it became rather gloomy, they aren't as cool though.

HJC do one with a top gun style internal visor cant remember off the top of my head when model it was though

from a bit of research I;ve got my seights set on the HJC FS10.good looking helmet with internal visor and for a good price of £150.(I dont want to spend anymore than that)

does anyone know if you can the main visor in a tinted option as well?then I can look cool on some days as well

yes the main visor can be tinted, but is it worth it if you have the internal sun visor?

and go try the HJC on as they tend to have a funny shape.

also look at caberg helmets if the HJC is not a good fit.

HJC do the FS-10 with a flip down sun visor. I don't think the visor mechanism is as good as the Caberg, but that's just IMHO.

Alternatively there are Photochromatic visors/inserts or graduated tint visors available for some lids.

Nolan could be another option, they do helmets with small external dark visors.

Why they chose to have it on the outside is beyond me, since you need to have the main visor closed to get its full effect, otherwise you push the dark visor up along with the main one.

Although they may be out of your price range slightly, Shoei Raid 2's are great helmets, and because they are so popular there are loads of tinted/mirroed etc visors available for them.
