I've been playing Need For Speed Carbon Limited Edition on my pc for a while now, mostly online with a few mates. The connection to the EA servers has always been brill and very quick.
However, recently I had to wipe my HDD and reinstall XP along with everything else I normally use. My pc is now quicker than ever, internet is good and Outlook is much quicker than it was before. Unfortunately since reinstalling NFSC I've had endless connection problems, it keeps kicking me out, not connecting properly and generally being a bugger to actually finish any races! When I am playing it shows me as having a very poor connection to the EA servers.
Anyone have any possible ideas why this could be? Help! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.
(7 year gap), BMW F650 (Relaxing ride). Aprilia Caponord ETV1000 (Big and bold). Yamaha FZS600 (got me in trouble too quick!).
Current: Yamaha TDM 900 (Comfy, light but big, power when needed). Also now a Tiger 1050, easily best of the lot! |

Lol, well I'm not sure what I need to state that would help work out what might be going wrong!
Tell me what I could provide that would be useful? ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

I've got the latest V1.4 patch already installed and there's no form of punkbuster attached. The program has also already been marked as 'unblocked' in the Windows filtering section.
My pc is connected wirelessly via a router but none of the router settings have been changed since before the reinstall. I run AVG as the antivirus, same as ever. I can't think of any other firewall or protection processes that could be different from before the reinstall that might make the connection slower...
Am at a bit of a loss really ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

a million possibilities.
someone stealing your bandwidth?
an extra computer/games console/ipod/sky box accessing the internet?
port settings correct?
firewall security level correct?
did you put the kettle on?
