Hello Guys and Gals,

Just a quickie.........I have mislaid the Keys to the Bandit and unfortunately I did not get a spare when I bought it. Now getting a spare cut is on my to do list, but I had not got round to doing it.

They will probably pop up sooner or later but is it possible to get a key cut without actually having the key??? This may (probably is Mike!!!) be a stupid question but the Bike is due in for its MOT soon.

I was going to get a new ignition fitted at some point anyway but the key wont fit the Seat lock will it???

Heeeeeeelllllppppp.

Mike.

You should be able to order one from a dealer with the chassis number i think. Might cost you though!

You can buy an entire new set of lock for the bandit mate. That's probably the only way forward

Well I was going to get a new ignition as mentioned above, because the one on there at the moment is a bit naff.

Any ideas how much it would set you back for a new one?

Mike.

I paid £35 I think for the set, including ignition, fuel cap and seat lock

Mike.

That was from a local shop. You should be able to get them from any local place.
I fit them myself, was only a few bolts/screws

As far as I know it'll probably be a fair bit cheaper to get a new ignition than to get a key from the manufacturer, they tend to charge ridiculous prices because they can.

The only drawback as you say, is that it's unlikely to fit your rear seat lock, although I would assume the seat lock is not as sophisticated as the ignition? You might be lucky. I used to be able to take my DT's seat off with a screwdriver. Confused

I dunno if Suzukis are the same, but the key number was stamped on the ignition barrel on my Blade. You'd have to remove the ignition barrel, and it should be stamped near the steering lock pin (if there is a number).

It's about £12.50 for a set of 2 keys, and it's a lot less hassle than getting a new set of locks. Failing that, you might be able to get a key cut from the ignition barrel itself.
