so, after popping onto zero one airsoft to have a quick look around, I find that next to the purchase box it now says "requires UKARA registration" before you can purchase any airsoft gun. Reading below you will see you are now required to prove that you have a good reason to buy the weapon
I knew the rules were getting stricter on immitation firearms, but I didn't expect it to turn into quite this much hassle. And if you don't choose to go airsofting 3 times every 2 months, you are stuffed, basically.
Yet another example of this frustrating nanny state, and the few ruining it for the many.
Doubt I will ever bother getting a proper airsoft gun now, too much hassle, and i'm sure thats the desired effect, so well done to those who introduced it.
Hopefully a website will pop up before long, happy to sell you one no questions asked, but I doubt it.
| Quote: | Who are UKARA ?
UKARA are a group of Airsoft retailers who have formed an association to protect their businesses and enable the sale of Realistic Imitation Firearms ( RiF's) to the newly restricted recognised and approved customers resulting from the Violent Crime Reduction Act (VCRA).
Why have they set up the UKARA Scheme ?
Under the new act it is the responsibility of the seller to verify that the purchaser is approved and they may be prosecuted if they fail to do this with due diligence.
How will the UKARA scheme do this ?
UKARA has set up an Independent Data Base which will be used to list eligible purchasers and allow UKARA retailer members to check sale recipients are bona fidi.
Who are the eligible purchasers ?
The only groups of persons now allowed to purchase RiF's are Film,TV, Museums, Theatres, Crown Servants, and persons engaged in Re-enactement activities, and airsoft skirmishing. All these purchasers must be over 18 years of age.
How do players become members of an approved game site and eligible to buy RiF's ?
The games site has to record you as a member and preferable issue you with a membership card.
To qualify as an “airsoft skirmisher” you must be a regular player at that game site having attended not less than 3 time in not less than 2 months. |

Nice one Zanu Labour, another BAN that'll so sort out crime.
Pathetic. But I'm ok jack, I've already got my armoury. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

How the rest of the world must be laughing at us. Most other countries you can own a proper firearm, here in this balless shithole it's now become a major frigging deal to own a FVCKING TOY!
And as the screw gets torqued down a bit harder we wait...and wait...and wait to hear the merest squeak of protest from the public. But no, nada...wouldn't say a dicky bird if the govt passed legislation allowing civil servants to come into your home and rape your wives and daughters.
What a truly PATHETIC population of spineless CVNTS! ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

Not much point to the scope unless the rifle has a vortex barrel (rifling to air-spin the BB). Does look nice though. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

If having a licence system stops chav kids getting springers through the local markets and scaring the grannies then I'm all for it.
Yes its a pain but its better than getting all your airsoft guns melted because some moron wants to wave around a Beretta in the high street, Then mothers against guns or what ever they call themselves now will then claim that they can eaisily be converted to fire real ammo.
And the trouble is Joe public belives all this nonsence.
