Sat at the esso station waiting to pull out onto the main road, look right look left, then all of a sudden BANG!!!!

Im lying underneath my bike and can hear a car reversing fast and people shouting.

After filling up with petrol, a boy racer in a tarted up rover 400 floored it off the forecourt and into the back of me knocking me off and into the main road. The moron then decided to try and drive off but was penned in by 2 other customers who saw what had happened.

I was completely stuck under the bike, it was lying on its RHS with my right leg trapped under it, 2 nice passers by stopped and lifted it off me.

I got up and checked myself over, luckily i was ok. bit shaken but nothing broken!

Unfortunately it looks like my bike is fooked. Every panel on the RHS scratched or cracked, mirror cracked, big scrape on the forks, rearset broken and pushed into the swingarm denting it, and my beloved akrapovic scraped.

Helmet and leathers are all scuffed Sad

The bloke that hit me admitted responsibility infront of 4 witnesses (sorry mate I just didnt see you) and its all on cctv!!

I will post some pictures up when its daylight. Im so upset, ive had the bike for 4 years and had finally just got it set up how i liked it.

i really dont want it written off Sad

tom

Always call the police.

I know you're only meant to call them in the event of an injury but he did try and leave the scene.

It all helps when it comes to the insurance claim.

Plus if the little scrote gets charged you might get some money awarded to you by the courts.

Good luck getting everything sorted Thumbs Up

Damn straight! As I've said before, even if you're uninjured you need to pretend an injury and dial 999 straight away. Too many scumbags admit liability at the scene, then tell their insurance company that they didn't drive into you at 40mph, you were pushing your bike backwards at 40 into them.

I suspect this guy's going to have no licence and insurance, and the car won't be registered to him.

Phone up (or go down the Police Station) and report it now. Tell them that its all on CCTV, give them the names and details of the witnesses etc... and any other info you have.

I seem to remember you have xx days to report an accident (I think!?).

Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear about your off, it's heartbreaking to see your pride and joy beaten up and bleeding on the floor because of some little pissant's dicky driving.

Consider yourself lucky though that you have CCTV coverage of the whole incident - insurance shouldn't be too much of a problem for yourself. Most of us aren't so lucky... Crying or Very sad

Glad you are okay, like has been said a bike will fix up, bones and skin arent as reliably fixed.

Remember if you get any weird feelings or aches and pains, especially dizzyness or lightheadedness get yourself checked out by a Dr

Cant believe he tried to drive off, what a dick, for all he knew you could have been seriously hurt.
Hope it shows up on the CCTV and the police and your insurance take him to the cleaners
We can all make mistakes and not see someone, but you stop and own up to it

Least he was insured though Thumbs Up

Mate, in your situation I would absoultly inform the police. Most likely you will be able to report the incident and the fact he tried to run off afterwards. A report to the police will make the insurnce claim alot stronger. Wink

Its a shame he didn't manage to get away if I'm honest. All the evidence was there so his liability isn't needed (cctv+witnesses they CAN'T argue really) and if he had left the scene he would have lost his license, or at least got points.
Scum that leave the scene don't deserve it. + a nice little payout for your injuries sir, after he fled and left you lieing in agony in emotional stress on the ground Wink

Now get the CCTV footage.

If CCTV footage is of you, it belongs to you. Don't believe anyone who tries to tell you different.

You are legally entitled to be supplied with a copy of it under the data protection act. Ask the CCTV operator for a subject access request form.

I personally do not think you have a hope in hell of it not being a write off, purely because it is a 400. Good luck with everything.
