Like many things in life, weed is fine in moderation. I've smoked occasionally for decades. Never understood people who spliff up on a daily basis or smoke loads per day. |

Its probably like alcohol in moderation its fine.
But some people might have alergic reactions or bad reactions to it, but alas I am in agreement with Tobes here. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Weed gave me problems. Had depersonalization and anxiety - have to take anti-depressants and cognitive behavioural therapy |

And all the other stuff... so it wasn't weed then.
What is the real dangerous drug?
1220 binge-drinking Britons hospitalised each day
By staff writers
January 11, 2008 04:21pm
BRITISH hospitals are treating more than 1220 serious alcohol-related cases every day, a newspaper has reported.
According to The Daily Mail, on any given day there are 1222 separate cases of alcoholic liver disease, intoxication, alcohol-related mental or behaviour disorders, or alcohol-related injury in hospitals.
British Department of Health figures indicate 160,815 people were admitted to casualty wards for alcohol-related conditions last year.
The figure has skyrocketed by 99 percent since 2000 and the number of patients seen by consultants for alcohol-related disease has soared by 95 percent, the paper reported.
Among under-18s, there has been a 40 percent increase in hospital admissions in the last seven years, including serious liver problems, injuries from fighting and young people needing their stomachs pumped.
The increase coincides with the relaxation of licensing laws in 2005 which created 24-hour drinking, the paper reported.
The figures put pressure on British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to overhaul the Licensing Act.
Ian Gilmore, president of the Royal College of Physicians, said it shows the current measures to stem alcohol-related health damage aren’t working.
“That is why we have been looking for real evidence-based ways of reducing the burden of health damage for alcohol misuse, namely tackling price and availability,” Prof Gilmore said.
However, the Brown Government is expected to keep the Licensing Act in place with only a few minor tweaks, and is instead planning to target under-age drinkers and put an end to cheap supermarket offers.

You cant really compare the hospitalisation figures for alcohol to those of canabis. How may people in the uk drink, and how many smoke weed?
Drug use is certainly more widespead than it was in the 80's in my opinion. When I were a lad there were only odd pubs around here where you might find someone smoking a joint. These days they find traces of coke (not the fizzy stuff) in most town centre pubs. I'm sure in another 20 years it'll be worse again. |

But, someone goes to hospital, and they're asked what drugs they've taken. Alcohol and cannabis? It gets records as someone attending hospital because of alcohol and as someone attending hospital because of cannabis. Willing to bet a large amount of those 500 people each week weren't just using cannabis.
Plus, little shits see in the papers and on the news about how this new super skunk is addictive and mentally damaging. So they blame their crimes on it when in actual fact it's just because they're little shits. Give people the idea that cannabis might be to blame and suddenly there's an easy answer! Inexperienced users have a panic attack or a whitey, now they think they're mentally ill or have schizophrenia thanks to all the brainwashing propaganda. If you don't get on with cannabis then don't smoke it, it's that simple.

Yes you can, I just did.
Brown is getting bullshit press releases made so that he has some support when he ignores the reports and reclassifies cannabis back to class B like he's said he'll do. Source.
We're getting all the stuff in papers telling us about how dangerous cannabis is and how it's responsible for XXX hospital admission, and that is reason for why reclassification would be beneficial. Yet alcohol is a far worse drug is terms of effects on soceity, how come they're not talking of reclassifying that? |

I saw that! Some European scientists or something.
This is just the kind of shit I don’t like though, I really really am a strong believer in natural selection. Let it be…..
If your 18 year old boy dies from alcohol poisoning, it’s not because you’re bad parents, this child is a ‘div kid’ simple.
We go out drinking and when we have a good time we laugh, shout, dance etc etc. The next morning the demons come out in your head and many of us will say ‘oh my god, never again, I’m dying’. Repeat 1000 times.
This is what many class A drugs do to you, but with not quite as painful after effects.
The anticipation of cocaine is something close to when you were around 15-16 and you find your first porn mag as a lad.
Getting on some good ‘white’ is, albeit for a lot shorter time scale, much more interesting and uplifting than lots of Stella.
The morning after isn’t always zipadee doo da, but usually your evening was memorable and amusing.
All of them really follow the same sort of pattern.
The anticipation, the first hit, the positive effects. Now at this point you could go home, you’ve had say 4-5 pints, chill out & savour the effects of your chosen drug. Or you could peak, go a little further, time and time again.
This is often the case with class A drugs. It isn’t because these drugs are…“Nasty and addictive” it’s merely because they’re so fucking good.
During peaks I’ve seen people do all sorts, drink being the worst. One lad I know jumped on the bench in the back garden of a very busy pub, being a prat, he fell backwards and off the wall, this wall was several feet high and he hit the ground like a sack of spuds. Ambulance called, stayed in over night with cuts and bruises maybe mild concussion.
I’ve seen boarder line insanity on cocaine, I had a feeling this guy wasn’t all too stable before he’d even touched the stuff and again, this applies to all drugs. If you aren’t mentally capable of keeping it together, be a good sport and fuck off.
Weed can lead to an infinite amount of direction, you cannot say weed just creates wasters because there is evidence in front of your eyes everyday. There isn’t many albums in your collection for example that you adore where by the artist has been stone sober throughout their career. My mum for example would quite literally cover her ears at any mention that David Bowie for example was not so spaced out on all sorts of drugs which aided him in making several uber cool albums.
Your average Joe who smokes weed will be subjected to quite a bit of ear ache from the people who frown upon weed smokers, it’s not nice, and does really make you feel like shit for having a bit of pleasure. Ganja is a long way off drink, hence the classification, it’s a drug I will dabble in my whole life no doubt. Sometimes it makes a change from the average weekend, smoke up, chill out, talk crap with mates, play Golden eye 64 (Proximity mines only – level, Archive – character, Odd Job) and wake up the next day with no ill effects. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
