got my NC29 on 9th dec but my test isn`t untl mid feb, my bikes well covered up outside and it gets well washed once a week, I also remove the cover whenever its dry so it gets a chance to breath and dry out properly, but should I start it and let it idle upto temp once a week or will this do more harm than good as I obviously can`t take it out yet Sad

Hi

I wouldn't start it regularly. It is only a couple of months, but for real long term storage there are a load of things worth doing.

Starting it up just generates a load of steam in the exhaust, to nicely get corrosion going from the inside.

Take the battery off and keep it somewhere warmer, and charge it occasionally.

All the best

Keith

You can get Optimates etc that have programs for leaving the battery plugged in and it keeps it charged, although not sure on whether people reccommend them??

Know lots of people using Optimates and generally they are recommended, however in this case he'll be better served gettign the battery out of the cold before it is completely killed
