 |
|
Any suggestions for a complete motorcycle cam for the likes of trackdays and my forthcoming France trip on the bike? I'm not wanting to spend hundreds so the cheaper the better, albeit I do want one that records good quality footage. I've seen the little Tony hawk 15FPS helmet cam but I'm not impressed.
I'm in the UK, Leeds area, so links to websites or local shop addresses would be most appreciated.
Most systems I have searched for and looked at on the web are 500pounds +..... ____________________ Sermo datur cunctis; animi sapientia paucis. |

Comes with handlebar mount and helmet mount, can either buy direct or some of the shops listed in their stockists section sell it for cheaper, or look on the internet. |

Would that be your own personal experience about the oregon or is it just your opinion? I've been looking at them for some time, but as most people say, a bullet cam rig and DV recorder seem to yeild the best results. I think G has campaigned against the toy cameras for a while now ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Experiances ive had havent been on the bike yet, lack of a decent day and dont want to video an hours worth of dreary grey tarmac and oil spills everywhere.
Its been friends car where it was ok, to see if it worked, just waiting for a nice day to come along and some free time to give it a proper blast.
But to be honest, whats expected from a £80 recorder compared to the camera + recorder setup thatd cost considerably more than £80. And if anything happened, id rather smash £80 worth of gear than several hundred pounds worth. ____________________ Children in the back of cars cause accidents : Accidents in the back of cars cause children

For the bullet camera part I got one from 4kam a few months back and it seems ok. https://www.4kam.com/helmet_sport_cameras.htm
I would advise not to go for the recorder option they do with it as the one I got was a Goodmans GPDR and wasn't impressed with it. Eventually sent it back as it kept turning itself on and off for no reason. Also the recording time on the memory card supplied was very low.
I'll prob look into getting a camcorder with an AV input for it sometime. Good thing with th bulet cam is that it could be mounted in most places on the bike by fixing it to the small stand which came with it. |

Well I ended up at Maplins and saw, then subsequently purchased this
https://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=221864&doy=22m1
Charged it up and just got it all set up on the bike, which wasn't easy as the Daytona's fairings are all angles and my screen is an aftermarket black one
Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll post some footage if the sun shines tomorrow.
Thanks again. ____________________ Sermo datur cunctis; animi sapientia paucis. |

Now the two digi cams look interesting, a mate has the Oregon and its not the best. Had a look at the spec of the cams and couldn't find how long it records for.
Also is it waterproof? Only need to know as I am looking for a dual purpose one, bike days and for my windsurfing speed runs at West Kirby. ____________________ Current - Yamaha R1 - Yamaha XJ600N - Kawasaki GPZ 500S (project? Maybe )
