Recently i have noticed when leaning my bike after a certain degree of lean the rear tyre feels like it has let go (ie is flat) and the rear end feels really soft and squidgy like its about to fall over.

Any ideas?? Pressure is ok, doesn't feel squared off. Maybe rear shock?? Bearings??

Cheers

Alignment OK?
Tyre damaged?
Shock is easy to check by bouncing the back end down. If gubbed it will jiggle up and down on the spring.

No more help. I did have my 10 shillings on not enough air in the tyre till you fuked that one up for me. Sad

Hold the bike still and start pulling and twisting at the wheel checking for play. You'll be able to see if the wheel bearings have went or the bushings in the swingarm.

You sure the tyre isn't squared? When you say 'feel' do you mean when you felt it by hand or by feel when you're riding it?

I'd check your rear shock for oil leaks and get the bike on it's center stand/paddock stand and give the wheel a spin and tug at the swing arm from side to side - there should be no movement.

You should be able to tell if the back tyre's squared off, by looking at it. Link

Well they tyre itself doesn't feel squared and i have had square tyres before and normally it feels quite stiff to steer then when its past the squared edge dips in. However the steering feels fine up to a point until suddenly the tyre feels flat and like its about to cave in. Confused

Tyre was punctured ages ago and used that spray stuff to seal it. Had been fine for ages - thats about it. Jacked up the rear end quite a bit even longer ago, just seems quite recent. Confused

Could it be shite from the road out the outskirts causing it to become slippy??? might give the tyres a wash tomorrow see if that helps Confused
