I picked this up today:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55433

Very Happy

It rides really nicely. The throttle is fairly heavy, but as Colin1 might say "The smallest turn of the throttle adjusts the speed as required!" Laughing

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55432

The bike is comfy, and has fantastic brakes, and of course, is very powerful! Shocked The handling is neutral and confidence inspiring, even with a brand new rear tyre on the bike. The light weight and not too sporty riding position make the bike very easy to manage, and it is surprisingly easy to ride slowly. Luckily I also have some right hand restraint and a fair amount of experience... but that doesn't mean that I won't be treating it with respect!

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55431

My one has 13000 miles on the clock, and isn't in 100% immaculate condition, but I don't care. All the mechanical stuff is perfect which is all I need. There is a little corrosion on the front wheel spindle and on a couple of the engine mount bolts, and there is a bit of a mark on the front fairing but besides that the bike looks great and I got it for a good price! Mr. Green

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55429

I haven't really had a chance to wring it out as such, but the bike has a bulging midrange and it is possible to drift along at 30mph in top, open the taps and away you go!

It also has another great advantage, which is this:

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55430

Immensely practical!

Now all I need is some sunny weather to take it out! Very Happy

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=55428

Its not quite perfect yet however. The suspension is topped out with me sitting on it, which means I need to back off the preload a little. At the moment it rides nicely, but when I go over a ripple in the road the bike kicks me out of the seat a bit. But this is nothing that half an hour and a C spanner can't fix! Mr. Green

Nice bike, is that a 929 or 954?

Have you tried a k1/2 gsxr1000?

Would be interesting to see how they compared as I'm in the market for either bike (and admittedly a few more).

Awesome bike, has the exact same tiny compartment under the rear seat as my CBR, it doesn't look like things have changed much there... Laughing Also loving the Subaru Impreza next to it, although it would look a lot better with a slightly bigger after-market spoiler and a more mean looking body kit... Cool

It's the 954, nicer than the 929 and more powerful of course Smile . GSXR of similar age has nothing on the Fireblade.

Its a 954. I looked at a load of 929's most of which for the same money. They were mostly junk. Lots of aftermarket tat, lots of high milers.

I'm afraid I haven't ridden a gixxer thou, mainly because they are a lot bigger than the 954!! Laughing

Fahd, no bodykit or spoiler is going anywhere near my car. I looked specifically for one without a body kit or spoiler, and I intend to keep it that way. Wink The car is quick, but the loud exhaust-rude-boy stuff isn't for me. It attracts too much attention, and its more fun when you beat people off of the lights in your ordinary looking saloon! Smile

Similarly, the blade is remaining standard, apart from perhaps some R and G's. Smile

McGee, the VFR had an underseat compartment ... but the lock was broken and so it was difficult to open. Also there seemed to be lots of gaps where stuff can fall out. The blade is not afflicted with these issues!! Smile

Awesome bike MarJay - the right colours as well. Razz

If I ever get bored with the mundanity of my R6 and opt for a litre bike, it would be very difficult to decide between the Honda like yours and a similar vintage R1. They really should bring Tadao Baba back to design Honda's flagship bikes.

Thumbs Up

Very nice mate, aswome bikes too, i did nearly 5k on mine including a trip to the nurunburg ring (500+ miles in a day) and my arse only started to ache in the last 20 minutes or so ( unlike my mates on gsxr's/zx10's)

OOps.

It doesn't look like that any more.

I crashed it today Crying or Very sad .

Not very happy. I lost the rear end on a roundabout, and I wasn't even pushing hard. I think it was mainly because its a new tyre.

Damage is as follows:

Gravel rash to the right hand side

smashed top fairing

smashed tail unit

scraped bar end weight

possible bent clip on

damaged left hand switchgear

bent headlight/clock bracket

broken screen bracket

Checked out the prices on David Silver spares website, and I'm looking at about £600 to get the bike looking bike shaped again, and more if I want it mint.

Not fooking happy. Sad

Laughing

sounds like its reparable marjay but check under the tank/seat for were the subframe meets the frame as they can easily snap there when the tail unit takes a wack.

Shit, thats a right bugger Marjay. Well at least if you want to see the glass as being half full - at least you didn't crash a bike that cost 1000 quid, because that would me the price of spares would almost equate to the value of the bike in my case. Well chin up, so that's 2 people i know of on here that have had CBR954s mullered. I was looking at 929's as a next bike but yours looked pretty smart.

Ow Sad Thats unlucky. I'm sure its not to difficult for the tyre manufacturers to mechanically 'scrub in' the tyre. It'd be worth paying £5 more per tyre!

You should change the topic name...

Daz.
