I'll just give you a little tip. To save you annoying or getting these people bored to death with 50's talk, either search the forum for any related threads that could be helpful or head over to theNPF site which is mainly suited for 'pedders and bikers.
Check the forum out there and you might get some good feedback. ____________________ "Put your hands up motherstickers, this is a f*ck up!" |

Believe it or not, this forum isn't actually /that/ tarty. Ie people on here at least value a bike's performance compared to how it looks.
The two bikes you mentioned are sold on looks, they don't offer much over bikes that cost 5x less. Also, a lot of people on here have been where you are and learned from their mistakes.
I expect you've got your heart set on a sporty looking bike, so choose the one that you think looks the best. Believe it or not the difference between 50 and 60 miles an hour makes very little difference; if you get a 160+mph bike in a few years time you'll understand how insignificant it is.
Personally I'd just go for a bike you can have some fun on and not loose a lot of money on, so you can save the money for a year's time when it will actually get you a better bike, not just a shinyer one . |

yeah just get a cheap 50, as soon as you are 17 you will want to sell it as you will be sick of it as you will want something faster by then. |

50cc PAH.
I had my heart set on a sports bike, so waited till I was 17 and bougth a proper bike, ZXR400, 18 now and going onto an R6.
I think Ste will agree there to, juut either get the cheap 50 scrambler (you'll have more fun off roading as well) or wait till your 17 and do your full test! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

well, a 50cc is not a good performer and never will be
so get something like a derbi Senda 50, they look smart, dirt cheap, and will teach you shit loads about bike control especially if you have a piss about off road as well as on.
and when you crash it, it'll prob pick up and ride off! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Well no 50cc is going to win races. So read the comments above. You're best with a 50cc dirtbike type thing, get your test sorted once you're 17 then get a proper bike |

For a cheap 50 crosser type thing (which is what I'd do) get a Yamaha DT50.
For a bit more 'respek' get a Motohispania Furia50 supermotard thingy. Crosser with road tyres and nippy. Bit more cash though..
For ultimate respect at 16 get an expensive RS50 etc. Trouble is, you'll probably crash it
You pays your money you takes your choice ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

In a way its good to have a low speed spill on your first bike as it brings you "down to earth" so to speak (no pun intended) |

Don't be such a drama queen If 16year olds want to be on the road then that's up to them matey. Remember, you can't tell a 16 year old anything without them thinking they know it all already. Not meaning to piss on your bonfire but I think you're wasting your time. Much better to let the guys on the CBT training shock 'em with crash photos Anyway - remember that the majority of deaths arising from over-confidence etc is the over 40's. Can't see them listening to your advice (well meant as it is) much. ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F
