I bought a van t'other week... nice little fiat scudo... not had any major problems with it (yet) and its perfect for what I use it for... only thing is, every morning I get up and the inside of the windscreen is soaked... full on condensation.. wiping it just smears it arond and doens't really dry it out so I have to wait AGES for the heater to clear it.
Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do or put on windscreen to stop it/prevent it?
the door seals seem fine, windscreen seal seems fine and its got a full factory bulkhead, so I'm not really sure why its doing it... are there any products out there to prevent this happenin? ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Sounds like it's just got damp one time, and hasn't fully dried out, a guy I know at work has the same problem, so much so that when it's frosty he's late, as he has two sides to scrape |

Heater matrix leaking? Theres water getting in there somewhere......
My own car does it, but i cant be arsed to get the screen done to stop the leak so instead i drilled a small hole in the footwell to help let the water out. ____________________ Cbr1100xx blackbird gone, mk4 golf gt tdi chav now

As Nb said.
You may have a Grommet drain plug dooffur choked with shite. Poke it out and try again. Getting wet should not affect the long term humidity in the van. As long as it can drain (and also ventilate) you will be fine.
You could help by making sure no water is running in by skooshing a hose up inside the wheels and have your Girlfriend sit inside to look for leaks. Tell her she may get splashed, but that it is only water. She'll be fine. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

Ahh actually, I think the driver side footwell has a slight hole as water does seem to get in the floor, I haven't investigated it properly yet, so if there is water on the cab floor, this could be causing the screen to be covered in water after it's been left overnight? I keep meaning to rip the flooring up and get this hole welded/chemical metaled and then re-carpet the floor... hopefully that will stop the problem then?
My work van has the same problem in the winter, both sides of the screen ice up it has awesome heaters on it (ford transit, best heaters ever) and within a few minutes it starts snowing ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |
