wtf?????

and the plugs were oily but i think that is from repetitivley being kicked over but not having the back pressure to fire, it was effectivly fluid locking the engine in the end!

I got fed up and decided to move onto fixing the small hole in the exhause and out gushes alot of petrol and oil so i took off the 2nd one and more comes out of that Confused it was running fine a few days before so i dont know how it got in there and especialy how that much got in there!

Float leaking, do you leave it with the tap on?

Usually, it happens where a fuel tap is left on and a float valve leaks in the carbs. Fuel over-flow in the carb and fills up in the crank case then gets pumped into the exhaust when you crank the engine.

If you have fuel in the cases the oil will be as thin and as much use as a lubricant as piss. You need to drain it all off.

well it did work before Laughing the float bowl might be stuck, the carb was overflowing but it seemed to stop, i guess it may have stuck again Confused

The tap doesnt have an off setting just on/reserve/the other one that i dont remember the name of for putting fluel strait into the float bowls.

I dont think its the float anyway because both exhausts were full but only one float was stuck, im off college tomorrow so ill get the pipes sorted in the morning and then get them back on in the evening and see if she runs, then ill leave it over night and check the pipes in the morning and see whats happened, fingers crosses they're both empty.

cheers for the help so far Thumbs Up

Snap on the situation, that must be it then, i left it on tickover for about 20mins and it coughed and sputtered and stopped and it wouldnt go again no matter how many times i tried, must have been slowly filling up the pipes! glad to hear it doesnt sound more serious.

Prime postion?

Take it its a vacuum tap. So very doubtfull that this is the problem as it wont leak unless its in the Prime Postion.

quality bike there, right colour aswell Thumbs Up ,most likley culprit is worn float needle seals/and /or leaking O rings on the float needle seats.the fuel taps are vacuum operated but once the seals get old they tend to weep fuel, after that your relying on the float needles to stop the fuel filling the engine.
i'm sure i have a set of the float needle seat O rings around somewhere(you can only get the matched full set from yam),shout if you need them.
