Or if i tell them the second the bike get's insurance i will send it straight for It's M.O.T .
Will this be possible?

Thanks :

You can get it insured without an MOT. You need insurance and MOT to get tax. You can ride to a pre-booked MOT if you don't have any tax on, but you do need insurance.

Yep, as mentioned above.

1) Insure your bike
2) MOT it
3) Use both the above to Tax it.

Job done. Thumbs Up

The Law you are looking for is VERA 1994 Schedule 2, Section 22, subsection 2

You are exempt from Road Tax and MoT Requirements on your way to or from a pre-booked MoT

There are a couple of other provisions. However as the people above said you do require insurance wherenever you are on the public highway.

Further more:

They do not require MOT or tax if they have a registered SORN.

And you need to be legally entitled to ride the bike. ie have a licence.

It's a bliddy minefield owning a bike.... Sad

Yes, but a SORN'd bike shouldn't be on the road except under VERA 1994.

Of course you can't use it on the road....

But for hair splitting-ness... You can go on the road without tax mot and no pre booked test.

Trade licences are covered by VERA 1994 part 1 - Sections 11 - 14

And to split hares further a vehicle with trade plates on is taxed while wearing them. Razz

It would be so much easier all round if more complex things were made much simpler.
