Hi,
I've also experienced this problem with my Rs125, what plug are you running at the moment?
With the BR10EG I found that if I rode the bike at slow speeds the plug would foul and therefore fail to ignite and cut out. This is because this plug runs cold(er) and is unable to burn all the fuel/oil mix.
What I did was run my bike on a BR8EG this plug burns hotter is less likely to foul at low speeds. HOWEVER, if you do run this plug then don't highly rev the bike, this hot plug WILL burn a hole in your piston if you highly rev the bike. But it will save your bike from cutting out at the traffic lights.
Hope this helps,

Sooted up plug, you are running too rich.
Whats the air filter like ?
Choke not stuck on is it ?
I would have a look in a manual and find the base setting for the carb and work from that, doing plug chops till you get it right. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

any ideas what i can try next, or can anyone recommend a good bike mechanic near Blantyre
thanks guys |
Is the choke on the 125's controlled by a small lever under the right hand fairing? If so check it is still connected properly, my RS got stuck at full choke once or twice till I sorted out the problem. ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

nah still wont fire up,
it seems like it wants to start tho,
the battery ran out of power after about 5 mins of trying to turn the engine over so i put it on charge and the fault light came on indicating a fault on the battery, so i went up to halfords and got a new battery, done everything in the new battery instructions, filled it with the acid, charged it for 2 hours, then put it in the bike and nothing no power when i turn the ignition on, no lights totally dead,
so i put the old battery back and and there was power to the ignition and lights, so i charged the new battery over night and put in this morning and still no power with the new battery
so im about to take it back to halfords and try a get a replacement.
so old battery i get power
new battery no power doh.gif |
