are these getting better or not????

i have a provisional and been riding for 9 years, i thought i would give my 16 year old yamaha sr 125 and 25 year old cb 125 a break and much needed restoration so decided to buy a new bike, i didnt want to spend £2500 for a cbr 125 or a yzf 125 (when they finally arrive so i opted for a cheap chineese importthe only thing i was worried aboutt was parts but i going for my direct access later this year so the money i saved will go on that i bought a skyjet f5,

surprisingly the build quality is very good and if you crossrefrence all the replacement part numbers most are on cbr 125's or other 125 machines currently widly available in the uk,

so if you want a new bike but dont want to spend a fortune i recomend this bike, it looks good sounds good and thought it wont last 25 years like my cb, what would you expect for £875

all my bikes can be seen here

It's nice to know someone is enjoying a Chinese bike so much Thumbs Up . The Skyjet seems like a nice learner bike however the thinness really annoys me, I wish manufacturers wouldn't make bikes with such thin 'biscuit wheels'.

Will be interested to hear about it in six months time, or something - as that's the real test.

I've always liked the idea of the seriously-cheap bikes, but so far mostly heard bad things.

Though, of course, for £875, you might have been able to get a tatty second hand CBR125 it's self.

My dad's bike seemed just like that when he got it and he was saying the same things you did.

You wouldn't believe the amount of times his exhaust fell off, or how frequently its studs would snap off inside the head. Or how underpowered the engine was, or how often the electrics would die for no real reason, or how poor the brakes were.

All in all it will look good now, and it will seem good for the price but I would bet on it breaking down far more frequently than its honda counterpart.

mail me for parts m8 because they easer than you think, my rr7 fell over at work (with a good nudge from a 10 ft piece of pine lol) broke the left foot rest hanger, suplyer wanted 85 quid for it so i bought a honda cbr genuine one for 25 notes Thumbs Up best thing is most body parts fit straight on but with some looking on line i have found engine parts brake pads cdi's all sorts so if you need help with parts give me a shout

ps get some cbr clocks on it and you will see how fast they realy go (trust me they dont do the 77mph they advertise as standard)

i picked mine up off ebay but the clocks require a little work, for it to work correctly you need to get a euro set in kph and put a converter in for mph (or keep it as kmh) though the uk clocks should in theory work as they seem ok with my friends rr7

then undo the wiring off the skyjet and directly replace with the cbr finally swap the temp gauge for the voltage and swap the top of the case

it took me about 15 mins to rewire and fit and cost me £40 but on ebay they go for between £30 and £90 but i have been clocked by 4 seperate vehicles and a police lazer and i am within 2 kph......

best of all my speedo no longer bounces from 20 mph to 130mph at 7000rpm

trouble is with the chinese stuff is there is hundreds of companies all ripping off each others bikes, copying copies of original designs, hopefully it will settle down one day and these things will get a bit more reliable and quality/spares supply will get better
