I had this on the A64 near the A1079 exit over summer one evening.
I was doing around 80ishmph in the company car, when a car came close behind me whilst I was overtaking a pickup.
I was having none of it as someone did it earlier to me on the 2 way bit before the roundabout.
I thought it was another exec trying to get past when it flashed it's lights so I dropped from 5th to 3rd doing 80ish, huge cloud of smoke almost blocked out the car (hope their window was open ) and I pulled over to the inside lane.
Then, as the car was passing, i realised it was that unmarked Black Volvo as it's red sign was saying ''Obey the speed limit'' followed by a cheeky flash of the blue lights. |

Italian police tailgate in fully marked up police cars!
Anyway, UK police got caught a few years ago riding unmarked police Fireblades around until finding a suitable 'victim' on a bike.
They would pull up alongside and rev the bike in a manner as to suggest a race is on. Once the victim took the bait the game was already over. I'm pretty sure they did a story in a bike mag...

Why does anybody speed off? , I let them tail gate me, and have led huge convoys at 5mph in 30-40mph zones, I also dominate my lane such that nobody can get past me , or undertake me. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Entrapment isn't exactly legal in the UK, nor is inticement to commit a crime, a HUGE Customs and Excise , bonded warehouse scam fell through after it was revealed C&E had inticed people to commit a crime,
Ditto with C&E's money laundering ops where C&E effectively advertised for money laundering services they collected 100s of millions , but the case fell through on 3 counts , inticement , they couldn't prove the money was illegal, and something else.
The best thing to do though IF you get caught is to bring the cop down with you. But as said UK cops need a much higher standard of evidence to get the convicted though.
Probably a good thing to get bike type cameras, ie sure it gets you bang to rights BUT also gets the cop banned too , cop gets banned or gets a ton of points = loses job + pension = ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Next time just emergency brake for the tailgating policemen.
I am sure that would go down well for them and you get a new bike and gear because it was their fault.

Charge is regarded as what you pay for a service. You do not need to go before a jury before a shop can charge you for the goods you wish to purchase.
It is a weasal worded way for them to get round the law.
All the best

Surely it's open to interpretation.
One of the definitions of forfeit:
| Quote: | Noun - A thing forfeit or forfeited; what is or may be taken from one in requital of a misdeed committed; that which is lost, or the right to which is alienated, by a crime, offense, neglect of duty, or breach of contract; hence, a fine; a mulct; a penalty; as, he who murders pays the forfeit of his life. |
Surely the charge (penalty as it is also referred to by the police themselves) fits into this, rendering the wording useless, as the charge is by definition a forfeit.

I've seen this a lot with marked cars as well as unmarked. They can be quite subtle when doing it.
They slowly get closer so that an unthinking driver subconciously accelerates a bit more and then a bit more and so on until they are then shocked as the following cars radiator lights up blue and they are getting pulled.
Its a typical shite tactic to extort money from drivers but unfortunately works.
If i get someone doing it to me i'll flick the brake lights on without actually braking and this normally "encourages" them to back off. If this doesn't work then slowing right down helps
