can somebody recommend an insurance approved ground anchor for me?

The anchor itself is a chunky square shape, would definitely need to be taken apart with a angle grinder or other noisy implement. All that whilst my alarm blares.

Hanging a truck from it just proves it has high tensile strength, which for securing a bike is extremely irrelevant as that's not a method that could or would be used to break it. And as said, it doesn't even show it in the picture anyway so it's probably not even real.

Just get a thick steel loop, doesn't have to specifically be a ground anchor and concrete it in. As for chains, if you've got a big enough hole in your bike to thread it through, use some mooring chain, like to see them boltcrop that.

I had this put in around 18 months ago and no problems with it so far. It takes a fair size of chain and once the chain's through the loop you can't lift the cover disc to get at the bolts. The bolts expand when you screw them into the hole in the concrete (with an allen key of sorts) and it comes with ball bearings to hammer into into the holes in the top of the bolts. So unless I want to take a sledge hammer to it, it's there for good!

My bike lives at the front of the house on the driveway. I originally had a bolt in (non approved) wall mounted Oxford Products anchor which I secured to the front wall of my house. This sufficed, but didn't seem hugely sturdy, it was a while ago, but i think i only paid £15 or so from ebay for it

Having had central heating installed my old bike parking spot was no longer viable due to the meter location so I laid a 2 rows of 5 paving slabs in the gravel at the front of the house and next to the back wheel dug a hole and with the aid of a bag of B&Q post fix concreted in an Oxford Products Terraforce anchor which i got for £33 from ebay a few weeks ago. Seriously impressed with its strength and weigh and also has a gold Sold Secure rating. Pretty good value and recommended for an outlay of about £36.
