Right yesterday i went to park my bike in the normal place i park it only to be met by a guy saying "you can't park your bike their use the bike bays" I ask why and he repeats what he said.

Now the bike bays are shite there completely out the way not secure and all the knobs park there with there awesome 70mph peds. So i knew something was going to happen.

Come out theres a nail in my back tyre. Which must have come from the builders yard next to it (college extension) as there is no way it would have stayed in if i ridden on it.

the nail was on the curve of the tyre so i rode it slowly to the bike shop and left it there and ordered 2 new tyres as i the front was getting low and though it was best.

Is there anyway i could get money for one of the tyres ? ive filled in a complaint form and they said they would get back to me (i haven't asked for the money yet.)

Got pictures of the nail and all the shit on the floor for evidence so no problem there.

Tbh mate, shit happens. Not a lot you can really do, bike bays are for bikes, they provide them so you should use them. If they aren't secure and that, then theres nothing you can do... I wouldn't like it myself.

Aside from that, nail could have come from anywhere. Not like you can source the exact builder that dropped said nail. Get a better college. I'll get some pics tomo like I said in another thread about the parking at mine. Its excellent.

I doubt you will ever see a penny for the nail, shit indeed does happen Thumbs Down

As to the guy, always question authority, who was he, what right did he have to tellk you to do anything?,

Im at uni and the bike bays are miles from lecutre halls, i just park next to the bicycles in their spots around campus... no one has said anything and if they did they better have some kind of court order or ASBO with them lol....

That is unless he was being perfectly polite and asking something you feel is reasonable, if that was the case, which it doesent sound like, then by all means...

Punch his tits and do him up the Gary.

I find that approach has it's rewards.

i am pretty positive they will have a disclaimer saying any damage done to your vehicle is not their problem etc etc etc.

maybe you could argue from a health and safety point of view as they have a right to try and keep you safe whilst you are in their care.

but my monies on, feck off Razz

Disclaimers do not mean shit.

In law you only have to prove the other parties neglect. Wink

Im guessing i went over a nail, as i don't see any reason why anyone would want to nail my tyre. I don't really think ill see any money. But i wouldn't be parking there again thats for sure, hopefully the college will get back to me soon.

As for the guy he was polite enough ill just explain the situation to him and if he still tells me to move ill blank him and walk off ahaha.
