NC35 = RVF

RVF has USD forks, different (smaller & flatsided) carbs, air intake changes, engine internal changes, a 17inch front wheel, revised geometry and chassis.
Loads of other changes too numerous to list (and many of them too technical for me to understand the benefits of), it's not just a dressed up NC30.

Presumably your talking about the nc30 & 35 (as the other VFRs - nc21/24 are totally different).
As already said the biggest differences are, the RVF has usd forks (internals unchanged), 17" REAR wheel, styling based on the rc45 (as opposed to the rc30) hence the different tank and air intake/fake ram air etc, smaller carbs, different gearing, new frame spars (similar to rc45), the riding position is slightly different, and some changes to the engine internals.
IMO as to which is better is as much down to your own personal preference as anything as overall they are very similar bikes just the RVF is newer (and I wish I had another 1 ).

Ironically, the VFR is slightly lighter and more powerful than the RVF but the RVF is a much nicer looking bike, IMO.

so the fact on my bike engine its stamped NC23(Insert engine numbers) means its got an NC23 engine? where as the frame is stamped with NC31?

The bike is an CB400 Super Four.

All cbr400 engines begin the code with nc23, even the 29's which are a completely different engine.
