Hi

Hub centre. The front suspension is a swinging arm. The front wheel turns for steering on the wheel spindle. Ie, in one plane the "wheel spindle" does not need to go through the wheel at 90 degrees. I say "wheel spindle" as it is really a hub spindle. The wheel has very large bearings onto a hub mounted in the middle of the wheel.

From speaking those who have ridden Tesis, it works very well on the brakes (because braking doesn't loose you all the suspension so you can brake far later into bends). Down side is that not having the suspension compress means that you don't effectively steepen the rake while braking to speed up the steering (but then you can set it up to having very fast steering anyway). Also there is stuff all steering lock.

I would guess it has something to do with forks being simpler, cheaper and more adjustable. Plus I would imagine with the way things are heading that there would be something against it in the 'rulebook'.

Wouldn't that be lighter than forks too?

But I reckon you can get similar benefits with the Hassock front end which was used on the Brittan V1000 to great effect, and now used on the K1200S. Without some of the drawbacks ie hub centre steering that won't be very good on the road, and having to somehow make movement from the bars go to the front swing arm.

Hub centre was used in GPs in the mid 80s, but wasn't very successful. I think either Bike or Performance Bikes magazine did a feature on them in the last year (can't remember which mag because I used to subscribe to both):
