The SRAD won't be the same as it needs more restricting than the bandit.

Seeing as nobody's asked - What CC is the bike? The picture Richard_Schmid posted don't look anything like the restrictors for the bandit 400, so it proves that they ARE different.

I always thought it was the registration of the bike to the restrictor kit with certificate that was the most important bit. My nephew had to buy two kits for his two Africa Twins as the were not transferable between one bike to another.

common misconception. if you buy the kits from FI International then you are paying for the paperwork as the washers are worth pennies. You arent', however, required by law to have a certificate. As long as your bike is restricted to 33bhp for the 2 years on an A2 license, then you're well within the law.

AFAIK that won't work as FI will only send to registered dealers and therefore you'd have to get the dealer to fit it, and therefore they ain't gonna send them back for you either....

I dunno tho as my bandit spent the two years unrestricted Wink.

Shocked Couldve buggered that up there Neutral

Reason the dealers would have said it goes in between the carbs and rubbers as thats usually where, When its the washer type goes.

Only seen three types from FI, Throttle stops (On the external side of the carb(s)), Slide stops and Washers (Some with normal holes, Some with a 'pilot' hole and some with an oval hole)

If anyone needs dimensions for a 1991 GSXR slingshot (M) give me a PM Thumbs Up

Are you sure about that? If the police pull you over they will ask for the certificate, they aint gonna strip your bike down and look for themselves there and then.. They will ask for you to produce the documents. Pretty sure of it, if that wasnt the case what's the point in wasting the trees!!!?

'Tis true.

FI just make out that they're the only legal way to do it. Tossers.

if you do a search on this forum there are hundreds of posts and debates about the whole restriction law. but it basically boils down to...the law requires you to be restricted to 33bhp.thats it.it's handy to have the certificate if you're pulled over because it gets the police off your case, but if they dyno your bike themselves and find that it is 33bhp, theres nothing they can do.

plus, just cos you have the certificate, who's to say you havent taken the washers out again afterwards?
