I'm not doing the job that I wanted to do when I was growing up, and boy am I glad I'm not! The job I have is much more fun! But I would prefer to be in the sound side of the industry and not the pictures part - oh well!
When I was growing up we were never told that there were fun jobs out there... it seems school wants everyone to be a scientist or you're a loser! ____________________ Love is 1050cc |

No, I wanted to be a scientist at one point and my school discouraged it. Its more like your school want you to work in a supermarket, thats why they say that things like games and art are important. I Hated Games and Art, but I was made to do it until my GCSE's.
I wanted to be a fighter pilot when I was little. I did right up until I failed the medical for RAF pilot when I was 18. Then I thought: "Why should I give my life to discipline and servitude if I'm not going to be flying?" So I went to University to study Physics and Chemistry. Hmm.. sounds familiar. Hated it, changed to Mechanical Engineering.
This was a good move. Apart from the fact that I'm rubbish at calculus. I loved every minute until I ran out of money. I realised that I was an engineer, and there was no other career for me.
Hmm what to do? well, as many of you know I ended up working at Sainsburys for a spell (three years ).
Big mistake. Luckily my current job is really good and it is engineering. Not mechanical engineering, but still fun nonetheless.
I kind of accidentally ended up with it, and its in the Broadcasting industry (Kinda like Rob).
It is a pain sometimes and the customers can cause hassle, but I wouldn't change it for all of the tea in china. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

I wanted to be a pilot when I was growing up. But somehow I became a web monkey instead.
It's not as much fun as it was a few years back (when there was more money to spend and dot coms ruled) but equally, it's not as stressful as it was then either. Pays the bills.
Not sure what I want to do next. Probably something that doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer all day. |

I wanted to be a Pilot because I love aircraft, especially fast jets. This was not my only reason though. Part of my logic when I was ten years old involved the fact that all astronauts were fast jet pilots first and foremost, before they became astronauts.
Also James Bond was in the armed services before he was in MI6, so I figured (at ten years old ) that either would be a good job, Astronaut or Spy!
I would like to try my hand at some mechanical stuff again, but I think I would keep that as an interest rather than as my career. I am hoping to also try my hand at some software engineering soon too. I'll have to see how it all pans out! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

I've always pictured myself having an IT job, so there's that I suppose. Got into the porn business completely by accident though ____________________ 3516 Miles, 11 Countries |

I've wanted to be a policeman , pilot, F1 racer, the list goes on from a very young age, like everyone else.
The past few years I've been interested in graphics/design and from that I'm part-time at FB (which is a top job obviously), and recently a Junior Designer.
So at the mo I'm doing what I've always wanted to do |

I always wanted to an RAF pilot, went for selection, failed. Decided that I didn't really want to sign a 16 year contract anyway.
So now I'm studying to be a commercial pilot. |

Jobs you want when you are growing up tend not to be realistic IMO.
I would want to do kayaking/ canoeing instructing full time, but there isn't really much money in it Might have to sort out doing some more qualifactions though and I might be able to. It was the only job I've had where I really enjoyed what I was doing pretty much every day. |
