...get some bike clothing! She's never even been near a bike before she met me and has finally come round to the idea of pillion riding.

Not a massively pointful (that a word?) post.

But just wanted to say not a bad deal at Hunts Honda Burnage. Due to lack of options of where to buy it and some helpful staff i think i did okay for the stuff, was thinking lidl but couldnt find any small enough sizes and i knew some of the kit at Hunts is good and the staff are top quality, will reccommend you the cheaper if they think its better which is rare.

Shes all kitted up with:

Nitro 330 Helmet - Not the best but best i could afford. She's comfy and likes it and it meets the standards etc.

Spada Jacket - Waterproof and looks warm enough with various bits of CE armour.

Spada Trousers - I have these, zip into my FT Titanium Jacket and are real warm an totally waterproof! Been in rain sleet and snow! 40 quid!

Gloves - Cant remember the brand off my head, W something. Dont look amazingly warm but were a bargain and had XS available.

Neck Warmer

Motrax Lovehandles

and some Oil and FS365 for me.

all for 140.

I'm pleased, even if i paid over the odds except the helmet i have used all the kit before myself and its warm/waterproof with little hassle.

So next to get her a CBT and a Bike!

Well maybe thats wishful thinking..

Any good tips for her as a newbie pillion?

I've done the 'sack of potatoes' bit.

Tell her it's the done thing to give you a reacharound whilst out and about.

That always puts me off lol and end up nearly hitting something, I need to get a more vibrating bike to keep her occupied.
Tell her to relax and just lean with the bike and not you.

Sack of potatoes is a load of shíte to be honest. Pillions have to work on the back, believe it or not. Stomach muscles get a good workout, as do arms and neck.
Best advice I can give is get her to read this:

1) Relax, the more uptight you are on the back, the more difficult it gets. Even if you have to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths as you go round corners/bends/roundabouts.

2) Feel the bike.... Go with the flow (see suggestion 1)

3) DO NOT attempt to look over the rider's shoulder, You'll pull the bike off to the side and make things twice as difficult for the rider.

4) DO NOT put your feet down. EVER.

5) If you CAN see slightly over the riders shoulder, as you go round bends, keep an eye on the kerb, if you can't see it anymore, expect the bike to start leaning in the opposite direction. Don't try to sit up to anticipate this, just refer to suggestion 2

6) Part of the fun of being pillion is pressing your boobs into the rider's back.... Enjoy it Wink

7) The rider may attempt to blame you for head-butting him. DO NOT allow this to happen... It's not your fault, it is the rider's prerogative to try to keep their gear changes, acceleration and braking smooth... this is why you are jerking. You are not a bad passenger!

8) Try to always keep one hand on the rider, you'll feel them move and instinctively give you clues as to what to expect.

9) If you need the rider to pull over, ask, then make sure he listens. If you need to adjust yourself at all (feet, bum) ask the rider if it's OK to do so before you move.

10) ENJOY it.... Thumbs Up

Also remember that as the rider the bike will feel a fair bit different, take it easy till she gets used to it.

Within the space of a few days i had a pillion who had never been on a bike before, and for the first half of the trip he moved around at slow speeds and generally made it difficult, he soon learned, and as he learned it got easier for me to be smoother.
Compared to someone who is used to being pillion is a large difference in how the bike reacts to you, and them being there
