If you buy one you have to stick a chuppa chup in your gob as soon as you get off you bike.

Its the rules.

Its part of Lorenzo's sponsorship rules apparently to stick the lolly in as soon as he gets off the bike.

Just a slight observation. I'm led to believe that the helmets Melandri, Stoner, Lorenzo are wearing are identical Nolan/Xlites, since they're the same company, but WHAT is their EXACT MODEL number. I know for sure it's NOT the X701. Look closely and you can clearly see that the vents on their lids are different to the X701 and they also have a rear diffuser/spoiler moulded to the back. Just an observation as i kinda like the design - i've searched nolan's model and they only have their N94 listed whilst Xlite have their X801 as their premier lids.

Gone are the days of fag packet sponsorship. Unfortunately because he's exclusively sponsored by them, chances are you wont see xlite releasing them - much to the same way that you wouldn't see an exact replica of anybody's red-bull sponsored lids eg pedrosa's or even last year when haydon had his distinct arai rep which predominantly featured red bull sponsorship, instead they had some wierd lines and figures representing the logo which i thought was gash. I kinda like hopkin's monster sponsored lid.

Take a trip over to palma theres some cracking shops over there.
I went for a week, found a bike shop over there, tried on a few helmets and brought one back in my hand luggage !
The only pain is customs wanting to open the bag to find out whats inside !

Helmets are alot cheaper over there then the uk.
The linings in my Spanish helmet are alot thiner then my other uk one,due to the spanish having sweaty heads ! Wink
So you do need to try on one before buying ! I wouldnt buy from the net from there unless your 100% sure.
You also get slight differences between uk and spanish ones ( my uk one has different vents to the spanish)

BTW the spanish one which i bought doesnt have a acu gold stamp,so might be a problem at some trackday circuits, but i aint had a problem at llandow or pembrey.

I bought an agv k series one i think, but there was some of those other helmets over there...esp the shiny chrome ones ! Razz

those of us old enough to remember when Durex were sponsors of suzuki in Britain (did Men Only also have some stickers on bike too back then)

would be interesting to know what he would have to do if he was sponsored by them Laughing

They're about 60 quid new here in Spain.
Of course the quality is not the same as X-lite, but these have been around for years

I remember reading a story about a competition Durex were running to win a new motorbike painted in Durex colours. They only had one entrant (obviously didn't get his end in that night). He won the bike and had it re-sprayed Very Happy
