Chuck some redex through it, and maybe replace the battery. Or maybe it just needed good run if it wasn't starting cold after being stored. Mines a '99 and if I don't get it started in the first 3 times I know I'm gonna have to bump it. Its not a problem, normally choke full on and as soon as it catches give it a squirt of juice and then it will idle erratically fine.

I would be wary if an owner had a bike all warmed up ready for you, i like to view a bike when its stone cold to hear how it starts...
But yea i had a 97 Bandit, Good bike, Watch out for the collector box between the downpipes and can, its made out of very mild cheeselike metal and they all rot away,
Bridgestone BT-021's are the best tyres IMHO for the bike, and Braided hoses on the front are a nice improvement in braking feel.
Mine always started on the button often with minimal or no choke, i mean even days before the engine finally packed up and it was running unbelievably rough the tough little bastard never failed to start...
Enjoy, and keep that baby above 7k |
